Munich Tours and Trips

The unofficial “southern capital” is famous for several distinctly German symbols, such as the Oktoberfest, beer halls and lederhosen, which means a trip to Munich should be at the very top of your list if you ever plan on visiting Germany. Travelers who decide to spend their holidays in Munich will get to immerse themselves in this fast-evolving Bavarian metropolis which, despite the growing size and busy pace of life, managed to preserve its rustic medieval character. The itinerary covered many sites I was interested in seeing. There were several locations, had we traveled on our own, we would not have seen or realized what we were seeing without the travel director's expertise. Activities were varied and for nearly every physical ability. Not only did we see the "must see's" such as Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna and Neuschwanstein Castle, we took train rides over the Bernina Pass, the Glacier Express, and the funicular railway and cable car to the summit of the Stanserhorn. We saw downhill ski jumping at an Olympic stadium in Innsbruck. We toured Hitler's Eagle's Nest and Dachau Concentration Camp.

Emma, our travel director made for the most magical trip. She led the group with knowledge and enthusiasm. We went to so many historical places and had the most amazing signature dinners. This trip is for the traveler who wants to see a lot of places in one vacation.

The itinerary was very well coordinated. The tour guide director () was always available to the group for any concerns and questions. The bus driver () was very good with his skills.

Trafalgar did a great job highlighting the best of Rome, Florence, Venice, and a few smaller town in between in this quick tour of Italy. It gave us a taste of what we like and how to go back for a more detailed look when we return in a few years. Itiniery was well planned, and I had nothing to worry about except what extra excursions we want to add and where for lunch and dinner. We ended up adding every excursion offered and they were all great. Dinners were at par of what I would have paid in that restaurants by ourselves, and they usually are in locations that has extra meaning, ie Michiavellis’s estate or under Roman bath. Say excursion such as Pompei and San Giaocarmi were quick spectacular. Lead tour guide Emma was friendly and very helpful, went out of her way to help us make some purchases as well as recommending restaurants for lunches and dinners. Driver was safe and made plenty of bathroom stops, and coach was in great condition. I would have like a bit nicer hotels - they tend to be quite smaller than what we are accustom to, but locations were very good. Airport pickup and drop off went smoothly, as well as luggage handling in hotels. I would use Trafalgar again for another country, but for Italy, Trafalgar gave us enough knowledge and comfort for me to feel safe to come back by ourselves.

We had a great time on this tour! Our guide was very knowledgable and pleasant to have, and our driver did a great job. We enjoyed all the cities we traveled to especially Dresden. We happened to be there when they had a festival going on and caught the fire works at night! The breakfast at each hotel felt like a four course meal. It met our expectations of a Trafalgar tour.

The itinerary was just what I was looking for: 3 days in Rome, 2 in Florence, and 3 in Venice. Especially 3 days in Venice unlike other trips that only offered 1 or 2 days in Venice. The optional excursions allow you both time and financial flexibility. [Pompeii, plus stops along the way to Pisa and Bologna.] Since it was 3 days/nights in a particular city, our Travel Director could work around "Monday closings" of some venues in order for us to visit those places when they were open. Our Tour Director was also very personable and took time to chat and get to know everyone on the tour to offer advice, and meet their needs, questions, or any such "angst." This was my 5th trip with Trafalgar Tours. I will plan more group trips with Trafalgar in the future. I also enjoyed touring and dining with my fellow travelers. Oh! Our bus driver was exceptional, too.
