This was my first Explore trip and I didn’t know what to expect. I always travel on my own so I was a little nervous about travelling in a group with people that I didn’t know but I need not have worried as the trip was amazing and I had a great time! I had no idea if I would be able to keep up with the group (of 6 plus the guide) or if my fitness levels were good enough so, although the walks were challenging at times it was just the right balance and the harder parts (scrambling up steep hills, along narrow ledges with rope to guide or on rocky paths) were intense but totally manageable and I enjoyed the challenge and felt a great sense of achievement. I found the itinerary to be a good mix: from walking through beautiful pine forests, up mountains, along the coast, being able to swim in the most gorgeous turquoise blue sea to visiting some ancient sites and open air museums such as Patara and Myra and we enjoyed having lunch with a local family. Turkey really is a beautiful country and even more-so in spring when the temperature was perfect, all the spring flowers were out and everywhere was lush and green. We were in safe hands with our amazing guide Alper, he was so calm and generous and walked at just the right pace that suited us all. We stayed in the cute Hideaway Hotel in Kas, the staff were great and the rooms were clean and comfy, the breakfast in the lovely breakfast room was very good with plenty to choose from. Kas itself is a lovely little town with loads of great restaurants and the food was very good. I would highly recommend this tour and Im so glad I did it as it was just enough (for me anyway) as I wasn’t too tired and could also enjoy some quiet time after the walks, we were usually out about 5-6 hours a day which was 3-4 hours of walking, plus travel time and a swim so just perfect for us. Thank you!

Rugged terrain with breathtaking views. Great variety in each day’s walk. The accommodation was perfect. Spacious room with annexe, as well as balconies. Fridge always welcome. The staff were wonderful and breakfast selection fresh and varied each and every morning. Our guide for the week was Zeynep. She has such a cheerful character, it is infectious. Great positive energy and loved by all. She shared history about each area we visited in a fun and informative way. She was attentive and helpful each and every day. A real credit to your organisation.

We absolutely loved the trip. the Hideaway was a beautiful place to stay right by the Turkish baths and the Amphitheatre. The staff were so helpful, the room clean and setting and food was fabulous. Each day of the trip brought us a new adventure. The group gelled very well together and out guide Zainab was fun, flexible and helpful and knowledgeable.

Even though I am a fit 65 year old, cycle very regularly and go the gym and not overweight, I found that the rating of the trip was more moderate to challenging, rather than moderate. Some of the hills were very long and arduous and were kilometres long with very little respite. Slogging your way up really steep hills just becomes monotonous. An option for e-bikes would transform this trip. The road surface was very uneven and bumpy for most of the cycling and was particularly uncomfortable during the downhills which could be long and very steep. The highlights of the trip were the scenery, learning about Türkiye and the food. Our guide always took us to great restaurants and we also learnt so much about the culture and history of Türkiye from him. Some of the scenery was just breathtaking. I would only recommend this trip to extremely fit individuals who enjoy the challenge of hills. Otherwise, like me and a few others, you’ll spend a lot of time on the bus.

Turkish delight

It was a good trip - pleasant Turkish town and walks that were enjoyable without being too demanding. Hotel was fairly spartan but the staff were both friendly and helpful (as were the Exodus tour guides). I didn't have a problem with the hotel apart from the mosque being close by and having my sleep disturbed by the calling to prayer.
