Bordeaux Tours and Trips
Bordeaux is best known for being the center of one of the world’s premier wine-producing regions. But there is so much more to this port city on the Garonne River in southwestern France. Besides its wine heritage, the city also boasts several architectural, cultural, and natural sites that demand attention. You can visit the Dune du Pilat, the tallest dune in Europe, with an unmatched view of France's breathtaking natural beauty, get a historic tour of the Gothic Saint-André Cathedral, or escape to the serene Arcachon Bay. And if it's the wine regions that you are most intrigued with, you can always indulge your wine palate in Medoc, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, and Graves. Dive into the world of fine wines and rich heritage with our Bordeaux tours on your trip to France.

Bordeaux Tour Reviews
Guest reviews from travelers on tours in and around Bordeaux
The trip has been put together extremely well. We travelled on public transport wherever it was possible, in line with Expore's green policies. The visits to the various food and wine establishments were excellent and very informative as well as the tastings we had in the local markets.
The Jewels of South West France was a fabulous tour. The tour guide Nathalie was Excellent. She was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, warm & caring. Ken our driver was a superb driver. We felt safe in his hands. The small van was comfortable & a good size for back roads touring. There were only 8 people on our tour so there was plenty of room to spread out. The towns & villages we stayed in & visited were beautiful & very interesting. The hotels were also all very good with comfortable rooms & good breakfasts. The tour suited our age group & was also flexible if need be. We would & have recommended this tour to our friends. It is a beautiful area of France. We enjoyed the food & the tasting events we had.
This review offers a general overview rather than an in-depth critique of every sight, hotel, and meal. The Blue-Roads Jewels of Southwest France tour was incredibly enjoyable, interesting, and provided excellent value. Nathalie, our tour leader, was highly knowledgeable, accommodating, and attentive to everyone’s needs while Ken, our driver, ensured safe navigation through the narrow, winding Blue-Roads to the many fascinating stops each day. The accommodation was generally excellent, especially considering the historic locations we stayed in. The rooms were always very clean, though some were small, and a few had showers over baths—a bit of a pet peeve these days. The charming villages, castles, churches (both large and small), and stunning scenery were places you likely wouldn’t visit on your own. The absolute highlight was staying at Hotel le Donjon within Carcassonne’s city walls and walking the entire ramparts. We highly recommend this Blue-Roads tour and look forward to taking another one in Europe or the UK soon!
The tour was wonderful! The countryside was beautiful and varied, the many small towns and villages charming and the sites we visited and the activities we experienced were fun, relaxed and informative. Personal highlights was the visit to the Lascaux Caves and to the castle at Bayonne. The entire experience was greatly enhanced by our guide Nathalie and our driver Ken who were both knowledgeable and extraordinarily kind and helpful. Highly recommended!
A wonderful trip overall. The accommodation was very good, especially in Lansac with Chistine. With hindsight, even though we are a bike fit couple in our 70s, we would choose the e-bike option for our next trip. More time for leisure en route! The map apps was good but had a couple of false starts while we got used to it. We highly recommend this trip.
Hotels were excellent! Tour director and driver were excellent! The only idea I’d share is the tour director should share the first few days in a row the bus rules, not just once….. Constantly people in the FRONT would use the middle door to exit causing those in the back to be stuck longer in the bus. Other than that NO complaints! I’m including photos of our driver and tour director at their job!
