Athens Tours in September 2026

Explore are really excellent. Our flight with EasyJet was cancelled as we were about to leave for Bristol airport at 4.00am on Sunday. EasyJet offered us an alternative flight two days later which would mean missing our walking group completely as we were island hopping. We rang the Explore Duty Manager who managed to sort out a new flight from London. His quick actions saved our holiday.

Wonderful trip expertly led by Thanos with his wealth of knowledge about the country, care of his guests, great stories and buckets of enthusiasm. The weather caused Thanos to have to make changes but all was with safety as the first consideration.

Our cabin cruise was an absolutely wonderful experience, made even more special by a thoughtful upgrade and an unexpected visit to an additional island. The extra stop turned the journey into something truly unique, adding another layer of adventure to an already beautiful itinerary. What stood out most was how these thoughtful touches made the celebration of my friends’ birthdays unforgettable. From the upgraded accommodations to the surprise destination, everything felt like it was designed to create lasting memories. A fab holiday. An interesting time in Athens, really loved it so much to see and do from ancient to modern. A great time island hopping with Peter our leader at the helm. Nothing was too much trouble for him to sort out when needed, so thank you. All the islands visited were very different and our escorted walks very invigorating. Travelled with a lovely group so had a great time.

Tour Director & driver were excellent, very informative was fun to be with & made the tour very enjoyable Enjoyed all the sites with the local guides who were also excellent as well

Some of the walks were proper hikes rather than walks. But the itinerary is really flexible so there are loads of other things to do if some of the walks are too hard. Excellent tour
