Athens Tours in September 2026

Busy. As long as participants understand that the focus is on ruins and that there is a lot of walking and information overload, then this trip is as it is described. However I among other participants, wished that there was an opportunity to spend an hour or two at a seaside location, as we did drive along shoreline a lot, to allow time to relax on a beach, and even soak your feet in the water. OR allow an extra hour or two at a hotel to enjoy the pool and just relax as this is a very active tour. Our tour director, Crissa was phenomenal!! As a company, she is a keeper and a wonderful representative of Greece and Trafalgar. I hope you are able to give her a bonus or a solid salary increase! Our driver Dimitri (sp?) was a great driver and very personable. He and Crissa made a great team.

Fabulous trip, great experience to be on such a lovely unique boat. The crew were amazing and adapted the route when the weather turned windy and choppy but this added to a great trip. Without the amazing tour leader Thanos the trip would not be the same. Would thoroughly recommend. However the cabins are cosy so pack light.

The tour was wonderful, it was our first trip to Greece. But to sum it up with a short sentence would have to involve giving our tour leader Nicolas Dimitriou all the credit. I can?t imagine the tour without Nic. His enthusiasm, passion, endless stories and laughter Made the trip and the tour a fantastic experience. Thank you, Nicholas Dimitriou.

I was excited to experience Greece & loved the variety of what the trip offered. Athens history, city area- sunsets, Island hopping , time on & in the water at beaches and off boats, wine tours, food & hiking ! Some of my favorite things. And our guide Nikos pulled it all together ... he was exceptional! The whole package! JT took true pressure off me having to make decisions ! Thank you Gdventures!

We had a fantastic time and enjoyed having access to some of the smaller, less travelled islands. We had experiences we wouldn't have had on a self-guided trip and the opportunity to meet other travellers (I actually added a week of travel in another country with a friend I met on the boat!). This was a cool way to experience Greece and I am excited to try other G Adventures tours in the future!

A delightful well-paced trip with so many different parts of Greek history. As well as our tour leader we had excellent guides who brought the history alive. There was plenty of free time too. Our leader made sure we had a variety of eating experiences at different types of restaurant. There are a lot of steps on this trip (Greece is mountainous, of course!) so only do it if your knees are up to it!!
