The Garden Route was jam packed with wonderful experiences, without being rushed. Plenty of time to relish the beautiful scenery between stops. The food and accommodation were all excellent. Above all our tour guide was superb, keeping us informed and engaged so we got the most from our experience. This was a real treasure.

Stunning and varied landscape on this tour The holiday offers a range of experiences and options to try more. There’s some modest walking, animal encounters ( penguins, whales, birds, monkeys etc) and culture. Food is of a good standard and great value - fresh fish is widely available. Add a couple of days to your tour in Cape Town as there’s so much to do and not much chance on the tour. Similarly if you like safaris, there is just the one drive at the end of the holiday in Addo - add a day or two there and visit the private reserves and Addo park. The tour is at a relatively gentle pace and activities are generally relaxing rather than energetic

Great way to see South Africa for the first time. Small group ensured flexibility around itinerary based on local knowledge of excellent tour leader. Some unexpected hotel upgrades as well! Loved the scenery, the animals and the wine.

The South Africa Encompassed 17 days was a very good itinerary that allows you to see the best and most beautiful parts of the country. Sunway-safaris had done a very good job in organising the trip and the guilds Claude and Duncan did a fantastic job to make everything happened smoothly. They are responsible, efficient and organised; they know their job well and are just amazing! There are some very long drives but we had a good time because everyone in the group is so fun loving!

A tour of 2 different halves. The first half is full on with early starts and long days but worth every moment in terms of the scenery and wildlife we saw- seeing Leopards and Lions so close in their natural habitat was a huge highlight for me as was staying the beehives in Mlilwane. I do think this tour would be better if was extended by 2 days to allow a break up of the drive between Drakensberg and St Lucia, maybe an overnight somewhere near Dundee to allow more time to explore battlefields area and museums. And add also an additional night in Graskop, so that there was more time to explore and hike in the area and leave a quicker straight drive back to Joberg on the final day. Part 2 from Cape Town was more relaxed pace with another fabulous itinerary. Tour guides- Samantha in part 1 and Werner in part 2 both were happy, approachable, friendly, informative and always willing to go the extra mile to make the tour fabulous and ensure everyone felt included. A shout out to both drivers too as I felt in very safe hands at all times. This combined tour was worth every penny for experiencing just how varied SA is as a country.

The trip was full on, especially the Kruger, Eswatini section of our itinerary. The optional extra trip to iSimangaliso Wetland Park was a disappointment, as we raced thru the park to arrive at the beach to sit with nothing to do, as beach not suitable for swimming, for 2 hours waiting for a Braai. Then raced back as other clients (not Explore) had to be back an hour earlier than the stated finish time. No discount was offered. I would suggest just doing the Wetland Drive without the Beach option. The Garden Route was slightly less busy but a great trip, not to be missed. The animals and wild flowers were excellent. The biggest downside to the holiday was the inappropriate vehicle for a group of 16. The rear side seats had no windows, very few windows opened, and Air con was non existent.. I would think by the amount of bad reviews on Explore’s transport (for this trip) they would have reviewed and corrected this issue.
