BK was a fantastic leader. She was especially kind, encouraging and attentive to my 10 year old daughter, thinking about her needs, as well as to my 72 year old mother-in-law. Her crew couldn’t do more. Ram cooked delicious meals, with a wide variety of foods, and his assistants and porters were helpful and kind eg bringing juice back to us while trekking.

A popular route to the summit of Africa's highest mountain. The Machame Route is well known as the "Whiskey Route" and one of the most popular trails on Mount Kilimanjaro, fondly known as Kili. It is reported that around 50% of trekkers use this route to ascend to the highest point in Africa and for good reason. The trail, whilst challenging, also offers spectacular vistas, ascends the Barranco wall and allows good acclimatisation opportunities. From lush rainforest, the trail rises steeply towards the Shira Plateau, providing trekkers with scenic mountain views and varying landscapes. While the ascent does not require any technical climbing, the trails are demanding and a sound level of fitness are essential pre-requisites. With seven days on the mountain, there is excellent opportunity for a safe and successful climb, with a sound sense of achievement more than reward for your effort.

Trip overall was terrific. Changes that could be made to future safaris. Game drives should only go out early morning, return to camp by 11am. 2nd game drive should start about 3pm until sunset. Rest at camp from 11am to 3pm. Boxed lunches should be deleted as they were well below standard & not terrible. Rift Valley Photographic Lodge was below standard & one night is plenty. The road in & out of the Lodge was absolutely terrible. My room had a terrible smell from shower drain & I was moved. The next room had no hot water until I chased it up. Swimming pools were all empty. Cut out long village walk as too hot & drive onto next lodge. You need at least 2 full days in the fantastic Ambroseli park. Masai Mara should be 2 full days experience & 2 full days in Ngorongoro Crater. Completely drop day 8 cultural experience etc from itinerary. We were all charged USD20 to visit Masia village but found out later Masai visit was free in initerary. The jeep in Kenya was old & very uncomfortable. The jeep in Tanzania was modern, a good ride & very uncomfortable. That part of the tour needs to be looked due to jeep travelling time.

This trip had everything. Incredible history, architecture, scenery, high mountain passes and friendly locals. The Potala Palace and views of Everest were highlights. Our guide and driver were great. Very knowledgable and gave us plenty of time to explore. The trip was very well organised too. Can recommend it.

This unique journey blends light trekking with immersive cultural touring. Starting in Chengdu, we travel overland from Lhasa through Gyantse and Shigatse, crossing stark plains and high mountain passes as we head deep into the spiritual heart of Tibet. Timed to coincide with the Saga Dawa Festival - Tibet’s most important annual celebration, our journey reaches Mount Kailash at its most atmospheric. Pilgrims gather from across the region to honour the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha, creating a rare spectacle of prayer, ritual and celebration.
We then join the sacred kora - a three-day walk around the base of Mount Kailash - alongside Tibetan pilgrims. Though not technically demanding, the high altitude and spiritual weight of the journey make it one of the world’s most unforgettable circuits.
