Excellent tour. Guide Elena was outstanding and driver Zoki was excellent. Learned so much about the region and history of Ancient Macedonia. The hotel in Skopje, Hotel Centar, was ok but its location was in the middle of several construction sites which was not great. There were several long drives during the tour but due to the distances covered understandable. Was disappointed with Kratovo although the pipes, herb making and lunch were good. All in all a great trip

This holiday was rated “full on” and it was. Not a moment was wasted! Tashkent, Khiva, Bukara and Samarkand were all amazing. Staying in a Madrasa and in a Yurt added to the authenticity and we took the extra trip to the desert castles which was well worth it. Also the silk paper making centre was interesting. Uzbekistan is a welcoming country - very clean with no litter and we were impressed with the flowers planted along grass verges for miles.

We had a fabulous time with Explore, the walking tour was breathtaking! Majestic snow capped mountains surrounded by the gorgeous array of wildflowers, and lakes and streams dotted throughout . We were blessed with perfect weather every day and loved seeing the clouds roll by each day. Our leader was wonderful, very organised, knowledgeable and a genuinely a lovely person. This was a most amazing and unforgettable experience which for some of the group will probably be life changing. We were fortunate to be in a friendly, supportive and cohesive group which was led by the wonderful Wit. Wit was the catalyst to the group bonding so well but he was more than just a guide and leader. He organised our tour seamlessly and supported every member of the group when required over and above what could be expected. We were so privileged to know him and to have him as our guide and mentor. The tour is stated to be "full on" and it certainly matches that description so don't expect a restful holiday but be prepared to be on the move with early starts and time spent in a minibus which was necessary to complete such an intensive itinerary. If asked to chose a highlight I wouldn't be able to as there were so many highlights throughout the tour. I have so many great memories and been very fortunate to be included in such a fine group but also to be blessed with Wit as our very special leader.

Great trip. Full on pace, would have to skip activities to slow down! A cultural and nature trip. Guatemala was my favourite country; the Mayan history and culture. The archeological site at Copan adds to the diversity of experiences on this trip. As well the more recent history of regime change in Nicaragua. The Spanish colonial architecture was highlighted at all destinations, quaint hotels. Nature’s beauty and wild life was showcased throughout. Overall, a diversity of experiences filled the two weeks!

This was a gruelling and awesome trek for me to celebrate 1 year since breast cancer surgery. The tour guides were fantastic. The chef produced the most amazing meals in the middle of nowhere. Be realistic about what to expect regarding mountain accommodation and facilities! the Explore description was pretty accurate. For me hiking poles were a necessity. I couldn’t have got back down without them. My knees were quite shot by the end of it but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

This trip to Senegal and Gambia is truly outstanding especially if led by the incredible, passionate tour leader Assan. He truly made the trip come alive with his passion, interest and extensive knowledge of both countries as a Gambian. The tour encompassed quite a few UNESCO World Heritage sites and took in so many locations , that I really felt I had enjoyed quite a comprehensive trip in getting to know both countries. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, I ate extremely well as a vegan especially on the Gambia portion ( the chef on the houseboat and the chef at our first accommodation) and I appreciated that there was free time to do what one wanted as well. The highlights of the trip were sailing down the Gambian river on a large boat and sleeping on it for an evening and taking an optional boat ride on the Delta Saloum to see the bird life and see them roost for the night. Incredible and highly recommended! The only thing that I would change in the itinerary is to spend only two days/one night in St Louis not 3 days/2 nights , do a day trip to Gorée Island than an overnight and perhaps take out Pink Lake visit as it is no longer pink in colour due to heavy rains two years ago. Those 3-4 days should extend the visit to Gambia and see more of the country especially the capital of Banjul as little was seen being on the houseboat and of course a trip to visit James Island ( Roots tour). I was disappointed that such an important place in history was not included. The itinerary has a good mix of history, culture, wildlife and relaxation. Highly recommended trip! Hopefully led by Assan and having Seringe as your driver who ensured safe driving at all times!

Fantastic trip. Lots of variety - sightseeing, walking and a safari at the end. Hotels were all good - a mixture of local and more modern and 2 nights in most worked really well. Food was good, locals are friendly and our guide Udaya made sure we had everything we needed and provided loads of info on everything we saw. Great safari at the end with brilliant sightings of deer and rhinos. Sadly no tigers but you cant have everything. Only down side is the roads which are currently truly awful whilst they convert the main highway to a dual carrigeway. Dirt surface in a lot of places.
