Walking in Slovenia was my first trip with Explore and it did not disappoint. Slovenia is such a beautiful country and I feel the itinerary allowed us to see as much of it as we could in the 7 days. Our tour leader, Edoardo, was excellent. He shared he extensive knowledge of the area and its history. He had a good sense of humour and ensured we were always safe. He adapted the trip according to the weather as required. The pace of the tour was very good. The distances that we walked/hiked each day were very reasonable. The accommodation was top notch and we were treated very well by the staff at Hotel Kristal.

An excellent short trip visiting some of the highlights of amazing Slovenia. A busy week starting with cosmopolitan Ljubljana with its castle, dragons, graffiti and green spaces, then off to 3 nights in Bohunj via beautiful Lake Bled. Alpine lakes, mountain mist, countless steps to a waterfall through beech forest, walking in the rain up a gorge, and cable car to the top of Mt Vogel...lots of steps and kms. Then something totally different, with a visit to coastal Izola and a day trip to the Adriatic gem called Piran...finished off with a visit to a castle in a cave and the huge Skocjan cave system, both unique places. Throughout the tour we were incredibly well looked after by the tireless Claire who made sure that we took away great memories of the European treasure which is sLOVEnia! I'll be back...

I cannot recommend this trip enough, full of gorgeous sights, fantastic food, waterfalls, gorges. The most picturesque trip I have ever done, it was like a fairytale. The guide was amazing and seemed to know absolutely everyone in the villages and was more than happy to share his knowledge and help us organize other activities outside the trip to make it all super easy for us. The Art Kristal Hotel was an amazing place to stay with lovely meals. The chocolate and wine tastings were well worth experiencing with incredible selections and knowledgeable hosts.

Beautiful country. The tour has a good balance of time in cities, the mountains and a long the coast. There is plenty of time to select your own activities during the day after some group activities and orientation.

There were only 8 people in our tour group. All the guests were pleasant, and we all got along great. Everyone was considerate of the time and our fellow passengers. The group leader Angie and our coach driver Mattheo were both wonderful. We were escorted by our group leader who had all the plans perfectly timed with no stress getting to any place. Our driver Mattheo was always at our location to pick us up on time. The trip was amazing. The scenery along the coast of Italy and Switzerland was breathtaking. The many modes of transportation made it a very interesting and an exciting trip. We never lacked for any beautiful scenery along the way. The hotels were all very nice and the luggage service at each location was great. My only complaint is that the food in Switzerland was very expensive and not the best for the price you had to pay as compared to Italy where the meals were great. We enjoyed our little excursions that were planned for us. One of my favorites was the cooking class and wine tasting in Verona Italy. The chocolate factory in Switzerland was also a favorite. The overall trip was great, and I would highly recommend it.

This is a full on tour which covers a lot of ground, and seven countries, in a packed two weeks. It is a great opportunity to get an overview of the Balkans and cover a lot of ground. Recommended!
