day 1Join trip in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia

Our tour starts in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. This historic city lies in the shadow of its old castle upon the banks of the Ljubljanica River, which meanders through the charming centre. For those arriving in time, our tour leader plans to meet you in the hotel reception at 6pm for a welcome meeting and for those that wish, there'll be the chance to go out for dinner. There are no other activities planned today, so you're free to arrive in Ljubljana at any time. If you'd like an airport transfer today, you'll need to arrive into Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport (LJU), which is a 45-minute drive from the hotel. Should you miss the welcome meeting, your tour leader will catch you up as soon as possible. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, you might like to explore the centre of the city on foot and take in the cafe culture along the banks of the river.

The tour was excellent. Good admin before travel. Small group of like minded travellers. Well paced and interesting itinerary. 2 out of 3 accommodations were good. Ljubljana hotel below par and needs to be changed - our room was dirty, shower was more like a hose, decor was very worn and walls were dirty.. Guide was knowledgeable and anticipated all needs. Could perhsps have provided more information about destinations as we travelled towards them.

A perfect itinerary for a first visit to Slovenia. Lucas, our guide, was excellent. Accommodation in both Lake Bohinj and Izola was great. Accommodation in Ljubljana was basic but the location was very good. Our group of 9 mixed well. We loved the tour.

This tour provides a great introduction to Slovenia. The time spent in Triglav is busy with plenty to do and see whilst the couple of days on the coast are more relaxed. Hotels are generally fine, and although the one in Ljubljana isn't as good as the others it's clean and convenient.
