Exciting 5d/4n Yangtze River cruise

I went on a 5d/4n Yangtze River cruise from Yichang to Chongqing. The cruise ship was relatively new and the cabin was clean and comfortable. There was enough food selection to cater for everyone’s tastes. The crew members were very helpful and polite, one (Cindy) even helped me get the food for every meal. There were also enough activities on board like movies, spa etc if one opted out of land excursions. The land excursions were very enjoyable. Despite my temporary restricted mobility, I was assisted in getting on and off the ship and when the wheelchair was required, the staff members offered to help in pushing it. Thalia from AOT had been exceptionally helpful, advising me on which land excursion was not suitable for me and even sent a requested foldable stool to the hotel for my use in the shower on our extended 2-day stay in Chongqing post cruise. Overall, this cruise had been a very good and pleasant experience for me.

Mongolia is an amazing country and this tour offers you the possibility to sample the central part. It is diverse in landscapes and experiences and you will meet welcoming people. Be prepared and read carefully the itinerary, this trip brings you out of your comfort zone! It is a real adventure! The walks are fabulous but it is not flat; most of the ger have shared bathrooms; it can be cold in the ger during the night and in the morning depending when you travel; the food is different but not that much and ultimately, expect driving on bumpy tracks but really it’s a great experience because you can stop for animals and birds and see how locals live. A new paved route will open in October 2025 and others are being built, so go to Mongolia as soon as possible because it will all change quickly.

The trip overall was incredible! Every aspect was planned out and coordinated, and as a trip manager was incredible. Very good balance of fun and informative, whilst also staying on top of it the entire time. China is such a beautiful country, and everyone should go and explore it if they ever get the chance. Highly recommended!!

An awesome variety of Great Wall walking - the best part of the trip. Challenging at times but more than doable for the moderately fit. Fantastic to get away from the usual busy parts of the wall and have the chance to get away from it all. Spectacular!

Very full on trip. Some stops eg 20 minutes at a lake to view birds was pointless as, for those interested, it was not long enough and, for those not interested, it was just time wasted. Moving every day was tiring so, perhaps, a couple more stops of two nights duration might be preferable, just to let folk get a breather ! A bit too much emphasis on man made attractions eg temples and monasteries in a country where the greatest attractions are it's natural landscapes. All in all a great trip though through an amazing country. No doubt some on the group will complain about some of the accom or food or vehicles etc. Ignore them, I loved it !!

This was a well designed tour with times on the Great Wall where no other tourists were seen. There is a mix of unrestored wall in various conditions and restored parts to hike along. Just what I was after. The tour guide, John, was very knowledgeable and interested in the history of both the wall and China. He was also very patient. The Xi'an extension was also good, but I would love to have had the chance to see pandas and think this should be added to the itinerary. Unfortunately, our group could only fit in visiting on a Monday when the nature reserve is closed.
