South America Budget Tours

All of the hotel accommodations were very nice. The best part was our Tour Guide Elizabeth Llanos, she made the trip what it was. Incredible experiences from beginning to end from Lima to Puno. The food was amazing as well. I definitely recommend the sunrise hike at Machu Picchu.

The entire tour was fabulous. The accommodations were comfortable and beautiful. I honestly wouldn’t have minded a little more time at the accommodations to enjoy their facilities and gardens, but all the outings were wonderful as well. The train ride to Machu Picchu was stunning and all the cultural activities were so delicious, enlightening and fun. Collette handled all the details amazingly and our tour manager, Nilton, was absolutely incredible. He was so passionate about his country and his job and it showed for the entire trip. He shared so much history and first hand knowledge of Peru and it’s amazing people, culture and landscape. There was never a question or need that went unanswered. Thank you for a wonderful journey!!

So many different types of experiences that it’s impossible to compare which is the favorite. The camaraderie of the group? The wine tastings? Ranches, farms, riding a horse? Big city sights? The moving dictatorship remembrance sites in Chile and Argentina? But I will say that Iguazú falls were spectacular!

I love the adventure of traveling as much ground as possible and this tour did not disappoint! Three countries, 3 flights, great vineyards, amazing hands on activities, farm to table experiences, and so much more! The people and conversations with others make the experiences so memorable! I love how Collette takes care of you from start to finish of their trips, have a top-notch app for us to use, brings the groups together with their meals and keeps us relatively close to our group in hotels. Overall, the planning and implementation of each trip has been impeccable!

Well organised tour, that allowed us to discover and enjoy different areas of exceptional natural beauty in a welcoming country. The tour started slowly, but by day 6 / La Fortuna Waterfall, it became more paced and more choices of activities were available. Apart from the hotel at Monteverde, subpar in comparison to the others, (our room was in a kind of basement with a view to a wall, and the breakfast was of a limited choice) we enjoyed the hotels. Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River was outstanding.

This trip was a great way to see the top highlights while leaving you wanting to explore more! Perfect 'Discovery' trip! There are a lot of flights and the airline can move around the timings so you have to be flexible and open to late nights/early starts. There really is no other way to cover so much distance in just 2 weeks. Its well worth the travel as you get to see 2 completely different sides of Chile, the Desert and Salt flats of the North and the Lakes and Mountains of the South, both equally beautiful but very different. The food wasn't as expensive as I thought, similar pricing to London restaurants so by no means cheap but not unaffordable and if you take some snacks with you its easy to skip lunches as dinner portions in every restaurant we went to are very generous. The hotels were clean, spacious and comfortable. The only pool in use (we were early in the season) was in San Pedro. Both optional excursions are well worth doing but I would recommend doing a little research into star constellations before going to help things make more sense as its a lot of information to take in. Our guide Miguel was very knowledgeable and clearly loves his country and the outdoors we were in good hands especially in the National parks as he knows the area well. He is also a keen photographer so we were going to great photo locations and he was always willing to stop the bus whenever wildlife or a good photo angle was spotted! There are long drives, but the scenery was so beautiful that the drives were just as special as the walks and plenty of stops to stretch our legs or take a photo or toilet stop.
