day 1 - Beijing Airport Pick-up
Upon arriving at the airport, you will see your guide waiting for you outside the customs. Transfer to your hotel. You have the rest of the day for yourself. Relax in the hotel. Go out on a stroll of the Chinese capital.
day 2 - Tour Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City
-Tiananmen Square
This morning, your tour guide will pick up you at the hotel and take you to visit Tiananmen Square. You will see what the biggest urban city square in the world looks like.
-Forbidden City-The Palace Museum
From Tiananmen Square, you will enter the Imperial Palace, also known as the Forbidden City to explore its fascinating halls and pavilions. Here, you will not only learn how the emperor handled political affairs and lived their lives, but appreciate numerous ancient art treasures.
At noon, an a la carte welcome lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) will be served at a superb local restaurant, where you can have a taste of authentic Chinese food and the most famous Peking Roast Duck.
-Temple of Heaven
In the afternoon, you will see the Temple of Heaven, with its unique architecture, where the emperors worshipped the heavens in hopes of good harvests.
-Red Theater
Tonight, you will be entertained by the exciting Chinese Acrobatic Show at the Red Theater.
day 3 - China Great Wall Tour
-Mutianyu Great Wall
This morning, you will be taken to Mutianyu Great Wall to experience at first hand the wonder of the Great Wall. The round-trip cable car will be arranged. Standing on the wall and looking at it stretching up and down into boundless distance is an exciting experience and will leave you a life-long memory. To celebrate and commemorate this moment, we specially provide red wine for a group-toasting on the Great Wall.
-Niaochao National Stadium
Drive back down and take a photo stop at the Olympic National Stadium (Bird's Nest), you will see its magnificent appearance from a distance.
-Hutong Tour
Afterwards, you will take a rickshaw tour to explore the original Hutong alleys and have a chance to visit a local family.
day 4 - Summer Palace, Fly from Beijing to Xi'an
-Summer Palace
After seeing giant pandas of Beijing Zoo in the morning, you will visit the Summer Palace - the largest existing imperial garden with a graceful landscape and magnificent constructions.
-Xi'an
After having some local food for lunch, you will take a flight to the ancient city of Xi'an. Upon your arrival, your local guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to the downtown hotel.
day 5 - Terracotta Army Museum
- Terracotta Warriors Museum
The visit to the magnificent Terracotta Army will begin your day's trip. In the museum, there are three excavated pits displaying amazing warrior figures and Chinese ancient weapons.
-Big Wild Goose Pagoda
In the afternoon, you will the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built in the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD) to store the Buddhist scriptures brought from ancient India.
-Tang Dynasty Show
A splendid evening awaits when you will be entertained by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show while partaking in the famous Dumpling Dinner.
day 6 - Xi'an City Highlights Tour
-Xi'an City Wall
The day begins with a leisure visit to the City Wall Park, where you can observe the day-to-day life of the locals. Here you can also learn to practice Tai Chi with the master. Tai Chi, a soft form of Chinese martial arts, is considered the quintessential Chinese culture.
After that, you will pay a visit to the City Wall. It is the most complete existing urban fortification in China. Cycling on the ancient wall is an exciting experience that many people like to try (bike rental fee is not included).
-Muslim Quarter
Afterwards, you'll have lunch at a well-known restaurant in the Muslim Quarter. Here you will find various local snacks or flavors, like sweet steamed rice, green bean cake, persimmon cake, rice cake, etc.
-Great Mosque of Xi'an
Extend to Great Mosque, one of the largest and best-preserved Islam mosques in China. Here you can appreciate the integration of different cultures, which has combined the characteristics of Chinese classical architecture with religious colors.
-Shaanxi History Museum
Afterwards, visit Shaanxi History Museum, known as the pearl of Xi'an and the treasury of China for storing and exhibiting historical relics unearthed from this land, where the capital of thirteen ancient dynasties of China is located. If the Shaanxi History Museum is not available, alternatively, the famous Forest of Stone Steles Museum will be arranged instead.
After the visits, we will drive you back to hotel. Have some fun private time during your last day staying in Xi’an.
day 7 - Fly from Xian to Guilin, Visit Elephant Trunk Hill
-Guilin
Catch a morning flight to Guilin. Upon your arrival, your local guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area and take you to the hotel for check-in.
-Reed Flute Cave
Your Guilin sightseeing starts with the famous Reed Flute Cave, which is a 240-meter karst cave that has various shapes of stalactites and stalagmites.
-Elephant Trunk Hill
Then you will head to Elephant Trunk Hill. The hill is shaped like a giant elephant drinking water from the river with its long trunk, hence the name. After that, you will be transferred back to the hotel.
day 8 - Li River cruise to Yangshuo
-Li River
Take a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. Li River is the essence of the landscape in this area, especially the section from Guilin to Yangshuo, which is reputed as 'A Hundred Miles Gallery'. The cruise ship will arrive at Yangshuo in about 4.5 hours.
-West Street
After docking at Yangshuo, you will walk through the well-known West Street. Then you will enjoy the amazing rural scenery as we drive along the country roads of Yangshuo. En route, you will be invited to visit a villager's home. After that, transfer you back to Guilin.
Tips: The lunch served on the cruise today is simple Chinese box lunch. It cannot be up to your taste and also fails to meet the serving standard of our TravelChinaGuide, so we kindly suggest you have a hearty breakfast at the hotel this morning.
day 9 - Guilin - Shanghai
In the morning, you will be escorted to Guilin airport and take your flight to Shanghai. Upon landing, you will be picked up by your local guide and driver and be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is left free for you.
day 10 - Shanghai City Tour
-Shanghai Museum
This morning, Your local tour guide will pick you up at your hotel. You will visit one of the four largest museums in China, the Shanghai Museum, which specializes in exhibiting artworks from ancient times.
- Yu Garden
After that, explore Yu Garden and its nearby traditional bazaar. The symbol of the Garden is the Nine Zigzag Bridge built of granite and grass-white jade and the quaint, elegant mid-lake pavilion.
Around noon, an a la carte farewell lunch (valued at CNY150.00 per person and included in our price) will be served to you at a very nice restaurant.
-The Bund
In the afternoon, you will be guided to the Bund and have a one-hour cruise tour along the Huangpu River.
Enjoy some free time on the Bund. Upon returning to the hotel, your guide will see you into the lobby to say bon voyage.
day 11 - Leave Shanghai
After breakfast at the hotel, please find your own way to the airport for your homeward flight. Due to different flight schedules, the hotel-airport transfer service is not included. However, we would be happy to assist you if needed.
