This was a great trip, and I would recommend it. The hotels were all fine, the one night camping less so - very cold and the set-up was VERY basic (a kilometer away from a luxury resort!) - but the night sky in the desert was amazing. The trip notes are not totally accurate/informative though - there is a lot more travelling than they suggest and a lot of it is in 4-wheel drive vehicles over rough ground. If you don't like heights, beware! Be prepared for squat toilets in quite a lot of places :-/ All in all it was a good trip, well managed and very interesting.

Oman was beautiful. The guide Mashal and the driver Jabir were outstanding. Great group of fellow travellers. The hotels were amazing by Explore standards and although the camping night was very basic it was really an essential part of the experience. I highly recommend the trip to people looking for a genuine experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

This was a wonderful trip. Muscat is a beautiful city with some amazing buildings to visit. Outside of the city the scenery is stunning with a beautiful coastline, soaring mountains and endless deserts. Our guide, Mashal, and all our drivers were friendly, helpful and fun.

An excellent but too short tour of this surprisingly beautiful country. Outstanding tour leader Mashal and our three drivers delivered five star service on this varied itinerary. I wish that Explore offered a longer version to include both the south and north parts of this incredibly diverse destination. And I would have liked a few more photo stops but I still give this a solid five stars. One of the best Explore tours I’ve taken.

My week in Oman was such a special experience. Having travelled there without much knowledge of the country, I was absolutely blown away with the beauty and adventure it has to offer. This was my first trip with Exodus and I was really impressed with the level of communication in the lead up to the trip. I felt secure and confident with the arrangements and had clarity with the itinerary and instructions throughout. The agenda for the week was jam-packed but it meant that we got to see SO much while we were there. It's not a trip for someone looking to unwind and relax as there is very little time for that, but if you're looking for amazing scenery, interesting experiences and fun memories, then this one is for you!

I very much recommend this one week exploration of the cultural and ancient heritage of wonderful Oman. It's a busy tour but all forms of travel and accommodation are very comfortable. The people we met throughout the tour were all proud of their heritage and extremely friendly. Oman is a very safe country. The itinerary is varied as are the fabulous landscapes encountered. Most meals were included and of good quality...plenty of affordable, tasty food to be had in local cafes/restaurants ...avoid branded "western" restaurants which are very expensive. Our guide, Zubair, was very knowledgeable, very funny, worked hard and was clearly a great ambassador for his country.
