Ecuador’s remarkable biodiversity makes it a magnet for wildlife enthusiasts and bird lovers. Join one of our wildlife tours in Ecuador to discover what inspired a young Charles Darwin to think differently about how life evolves after he landed in the Galapagos Islands, home to creatures not found in other parts of the world. El Chato Tortoise Reserve in the Santa Cruz highlands is an excellent place to see the magnificent giant tortoises, as well as birds like Darwin’s finches and short-eared owls. El Oriente, a world-renowned biodiversity zone that accounts for 30 percent of Ecuador’s landmass, teems with wildlife, and you are sure to spot howler monkeys, spider monkeys and pink river dolphins. If you plan your Ecuador wildlife tours between June and September, do not forget to head to the coastal Machalilla National Park to glimpse the 36-tonne humpback whale. Excellent

G adventures is at the top of my list now for all future travel. I would have never thought I would have felt comfortable traveling solo until this trip. It has given me the courage and the wings to fly now and go all over the world to the places no one would go with me. I trust G adventures and I look forward to my next adventure which I’m planning now. Thank you for the owners and all the people who carefully create and organize these well planned out experiences. This was a life-changing experience and I’m looking forward to more in the future.

A well organised and varied tour. There was plenty of opportunity to mix with local people and get a taste of their lifestyle. Wildlife was abundant and especially in Galapagos was surprisingly visible.

Fantastic trip to 2 places the highlights were Machu Picchu and Galapagos. Seeing the wildlife and Galapagos was amazing. The only thing that let us down was the airline companies because of delayed luggage we had to go to the airport to get our luggage which was a negative point and some of our tall group had to go twice because their luggage was delayed twice. To be honest, we didn’t get much help from the guy either we had to go to the airport ourselves. Other than that, it was an excellent trip and I would highly recommend.

This was a busy but amazing trip. Matchu pichu was out of this world. Galapagos was wonderful, so much wildlife and great memories made with our group. Definitely should have packed less so could buy more.

Ecuador is a small country with surprisingly good infrastructure, especially roads. Restaurants are inexpensive compared to the UK. Our leader Fabian is experienced and made the whole trip run smoothly and did the bureaucracy on our behalf when possible. He left us alone most evenings but provided suggested restaurants that previous groups had used and this worked well in practice. On the Galapagos a local guide is required and most of these added to the experience. The itinerary lies within the area considered safe by the FCDO and so there is no problem travelling. Nevertheless one lady had her mobile phone snatched and so a high degree of caution is required. This trip is very good for a person who wishes to visit Ecuador and get a taste of the Galapagos in a single trip and at a reasonable cost.

Alrhough with a wildlife focus, there was plenty else to enjoy to get a feel for Ecuador's history and culture. The wildlife in the Galapagos was amazing with sorkling with turtles the highlight. Fabian was a great tour leader. Informative and helpful whilst leaving the group with time and space to do their own thing. And for chocoholics, the chocolate factory experience was someting to indulge in!
