Ecuador 8-Day Tours and Trips

An excellent trip on a comfortable boat with a good crew and good food. We saw all of the expected wildlife, and snorkelling with sea lions and turtles amongst the fish was a particular highlight. The boat is not operated by Explore, so on my trip there were other nationalities who had booked through other operators, but it was a good mix. On the afternoon of the first day at the hotel I received a WhatsApp from the cruise operator providing details of the airport transfer (handled by the hotel in my case) and of their representative who met me at the airport to provide my printed boarding pass and Transit Control Card. They also helped with the additional baggage check required before bag drop. The message also includes the flight details if you want to complete the bio-security form at https://declaracion.abgalapagos.gob.ec/ before arriving at the airport. After snorkelling the crew will rinse all your gear and then hang wetsuits to dry (I think it was 80 USD to rent a wetsuit on board for the six days, but masks, snorkels and fins were free). There are lines with clothes pegs on the top deck to dry your swimwear. Remember to take USD cash for tipping the crew and guide at the end of the trip. Two envelopes were left in my cabin for this, but the amount suggested at 15 USD per day for the guide and 25 USD per day for the crew of 11 was about double that in the trip notes.

I absolutely loved my experience in Ecuador!! It was truly a holiday of a lifetime! This holiday gave me the chance to escape and detox from my usual life and free me from the clutches of the social media world we live in. No WIFI and data access gave me the chance to really experience Ecuador and learn the culture from its people. I reconnected with nature during my time in the rainforest and felt genuinely touched by its beauty and fascinated by natural remedies I learnt that it offers. This holiday released the inner adventurous girl in me, pushing myself into activities I never thought I could do. And again I have made some fantastic life long friends! I truly fell in love with Educator and didn't want to leave. I hope I get the opportunity to travel there again!

This was my second trip to Galapagos with G this year. I was so impressed with the first trip when I took my 15 year old son that I urged my 13 year old to go so I could return. Each trip was unique in the details, but the whole experiences were equally great. It was good to see the consistency in the quality of guides we had: Dario Chimarro and Sandra Masaquiza. They were both born in Galapagos and were extremely knowledgeable about. every aspect of the islands. Now my husband wants to know when I'm going to "take him." I'm thinking next year. :)

Whether it was hiking through the lush rainforest, encountering diverse wildlife, or engaging with local communities, each day brought new adventures and unforgettable memories. I cannot recommend this trip with G Adventures highly enough. It was like a dream come true. I've learned a lot and got to experience life in a way many do not. The people were amazing, the activities were exciting, and I feel truly bonded to them after just a few short days. I wish the journey never ended.
