Colombia is the second most bio-diverse country in the world behind Brazil. The landscape is truly breath-taking. Hilly / mountainous and very green and lush. A bit like New Zealand only with lots more trees, really beautiful. We felt safe the entire time, it's reputation for being a "dodgy place" is no longer justified, the days of drugs and violence are in the past.
It was a splendid introductory trip. The guides in each city were very good; the the cities themselves were fascinating. We chose our own restaurants which was easy. The museums were quite spectacular, and if you like art Botelo is a master of painting and sculpture. I must say I was confused about the preparatory organization, since it all seemed to be done on-line; and did not come together in a package for us until a few days before we arrived, but in the end the logistics were excellent. The cars and guides arrived on time at every stop, and the hotels were very good. So all in all, well done.
Andras was very enthusiastic hard working and caring. He always wanted to give that little bit more. Sometimes instructions were a little bit muddled or contained a bit too much information, but he was always willing to answer questions and he made sure we came to love Colombia. I found the country very interesting and the tour very varied and colourful. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
Great busy trip. Best tour leader I have ever had and I have done many Explore trips. Columbia is a fantastic country and I would highly recommend it. Be prepared for some long travelling days.
The tour guide, Andre Cristiano, was excellent. He was very passionate about his country and the Colombian people and he made every accommodation necessary please the diverse group of people on this trip. The local guides were also excellent and very knowledgeable.
This tour was extensive and had many amazing and culturally significant activities that truly highlighted Columbia and its beautiful people. The tour guide, Andres, was extremely informative, funny, kind and went above and beyond to accommodate all members of our group. He’s a true gem! I would highly recommend this tour if you want an immersive experience of Colombia!
