Reviews of our Botswana Tours for November

Feedback from guests who toured Botswana during November.

Saw so much! Much of it thanks to Jo our guide who was excellent throughout. The crew also looked after us very well at camps and the river boat. Lodges were a luxurious and welcome diversion. Would definitely recommend.

This was a full on tour including camping, a houseboat as well as hotels. But the highlight was the wildlife. On day one you were amazed at the wildlife you saw and how close you could get. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better the following brought even more spectacular wildlife sightings. It was like watching a wildlife TV programme but you were actually there in it. There is a lot of travel involved but worth it to explore the region, mostly in Botswana which is a wonderful country. The camping was an experience I will not forget - it was hot in the tents at night and you need to come prepared but the “en-suite” bucket shower open to the sky above and having elephant and giraffe pass by and the excellent camp food made many a memory. The hotel at Thamo Telele afterwards felt like pure luxury as we all needed a much welcome bath. If you want to experience African wildlife close up but safely and have many different experiences as you go this is the adventure for you.

Excellent

The trip was terrific, and we were guided by excellent CEOs. Their care for us and local knowledge were second to none. The food was outstanding. All the local employees of the lodges were helpful and fun to interact with. The diversity of the wildlife that we saw is off the charts. We had the experience of a lifetime, and the next time we go on a tour, we will go with National Geographic and G Adventure. The staff at G Adventures were great to deal with and made it very easy for us to plan our trip. Everyone did a great job & we enjoyed our South African safari.

Excellent

Transformative in our lives to see and feel Africa. Knowing there were wildlife and nature were still thriving alongside humans gave us hope for the future We learned and experienced things we had only read about and this has changed our perspective and future focus

This tour delivered an incredible wildlife experience thanks to Bibi! He was an excellent guide who showed us an incredible variety of wildlife and birds, sometimes locating them in difficult spots. This tour is full-on with some mornings starting as early as 5:00am and some very long drives often on very dusty and bumpy roads. In late September, we experienced consistently hot temperatures ranging between 38-40 degrees Celsius so toques, mitts, and warm layers were not necessary. However, seeing the animals in their natural habitats and the endless horizons with the spectacular sunrises and sunsets was unforgettable and made it all worthwhile! Having our campsites ready when we arrived at the end of a long days drive and individual ensuite toilets and showers, although rustic, was hugely appreciated. Campsite meals were delicious especially those provided by the crew at Moremi. The accommodation at Pioneer Lodge in Victoria Falls was wonderful and the night at Thamo Telele in Maun was amazing especially after spending 5 nights camping. Finally, thank you to several people in their reviews who provided great tips that helped me immensely with packing. A few points: Water - I appreciated that Explore provided water so bring a reusable water bottle. USB - there were plugs in the vehicle, and although they didn’t work, Bibi was happy to charge upfront if we needed to. Best to also bring a backup power bank. Clothing - bring layers Luggage - if you’re undecided about what luggage to bring, bring something that is rugged and you don’t mind if it gets really dusty, cuz, it will! Read the trip notes and if you’re fine with what you’ve read, then you’re in for an unforgettable experience!

Wildlife & wilderness of Botswana

It was such a memorable adventure - seeing cheetahs, leopards and wild dogs, not forgetting elephants who seemed to like wandering around our camp at night ! The wild camping made it possible to be part of their world which was a real privilege. The camp staff were excellent and I just loved Botswana. All together one of the best holidays I have been on .
