About Geoff

Write a review
I have been involved in tourism in New Zealand since August 1992. I am a past member of the Canterbury Tourism Council where I represented the local adventure tourism industry operators. I'm extremely passionate and caring about what I do in life, and together with awesome fellow Kiwi staff, promise to give you the very best vacation experience possible while you explore our beautiful land, Aotearoa, New Zealand. On a personal note, I am a past competitor in our famous "Coast to Coast" Endurance Race World Championship event and have competed in numerous marathons and multi-sport races. I absolutely love our world-famous great outdoors, our majestic mountains, beautiful lakes and rivers, fiords, glaciers, ancient rain forests, golden sandy beaches, our unique Maori heritage and much more. I always feel privileged to be able to share New Zealand’s beauty and special uniqueness and look forward to showing it all to our visitors.

Geoff's Expertise

I enjoy taking visitors where the locals go — off the beaten track. Besides the many beautiful national parks and World Heritage sites, I will take you through a world-famous traditional Kiwi sheep farm and introduce you to a unique Maori culture with the local Mitai family (or, tribe) on the shores of beautiful Lake Rotorua. Whether you want a quiet retreat in New Zealand or prefer thrilling adventure activities, I've got you covered.

Best Travel Experience

In 2012, I met a Turkish tour guide named Tolun in New Zealand. The following year, my wife, Libby and I flew to Turkey to explore its rich history and culture, and visited Tolun in his home village of Uchisar in the stunningly beautiful Cappadocia. Tolun runs an amazing lodge in Uchisar and it was absolutely delightful to spend a few days amidst the gorgeous landscape of limestone mountains. We also absolutely loved Istanbul. It's long fascinating history of Ottoman and Roman Empires, the Byzantine era and Arab invasions is very fascinating. We enjoyed interacting with its warm friendly people. Since it is such a huge city, there is always so much to discover and experience on each visit. The Galatar tower is stunning, the Grand Bazaar is spectacular, and the Hagia Sophia Mosque is truly breath-taking.

Why is Geoff the right travel expert?

First and foremost, I am a Kiwi. I know the country, its people and culture very well. I can recommend you the best of what you want to explore and experience in this country. Secondly, I understand the anxiety of planning a trip to a strange country, so I provide my personal mobile number to all our clients so that they can reach me 24/7 during their stay. Finally, I am a stickler for our company's motto: We do not make promises we cannot keep! I will ensure that your experience with us in New Zealand exceeds your expectations and that you are not disappointed.

Immersive Experience!

This was a fantastic immersive experience. We got a true taste of Australia and NZ. It was wonderful to adventure around in New Zealand and sight see in Australia. All the transportation to and from the airports and excursions was fantastic. The beginning of the trip started with Auckland- it was a wonderful place. Big city vibes, but it was lovely. We didn't quite know how to kill some time before dinner, so perhaps some suggested activities for this city would be good too. M Social was the best hotel we stayed in for sure. Driving to Waitomo for the glow worms was completely worth it. Then we drove to Rotorua. The hotel was a bit less nice here, mainly the staff was a little strange and it just was kind of old and run down. The cultural night was amazing- the dinner wasn't the best but it was worth it for the experience. The geothermal springs were very cool and the tour guide was great. Queenstown was definitely one of the best places we went. The Rydges upstairs breakfast and restaurant was stunning- the rooms were a little run down and seemed like they were doing renovations. 10/10 would recommend the TSS Earnslow cruise- the dinner was delicious and the scenery was incredible. The Milford Sound Fly Cruise Fly was also incredible. The gondola was very fun too! Then we went to Cairns- In the future, I would potentially plan some of the free days differently- and strategically place them after long travel days. We had a long travel day to Australia, with layovers and a late last flight. The next day we had a super early start at the Great Barrier Reef- but this was also an amazing and unforgettable experience. The free day in Cairns there was not much to do- it would be great if this was the day before the Great barrier reef so we could sleep in and rest and do our laundry before that. The hotel here was great, the breakfast situation was a bit strange. Sydney was incredible! The opera House tour was so nice. So was the Blue Mountains Day! The only thing we could do without was the Rocks walking tour in Sydney- that was a great history lesson, but there's not much to see over there anymore. All in all, this was incredible well organized and was such a great experience. I would recommend to anyone looking to quickly get an idea of all the different places throughout Australia and NZ!
