Exploring both Brazilian and Argentinean sides of the Iguazu Falls
A day trip to Brazil’s most stylist beach resort
Sightseeing in Rio
Experience the magic of South Brazil on this unforgettable journey through its most breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cities. Begin at Iguaçu National Park, where thundering waterfalls cascade through lush rainforest. Continue to Florianópolis on Santa Catarina Island, celebrated for its golden beaches and lively surf culture.
Step back in time in the colonial towns of Mariana and Ouro Preto, where baroque architecture and historic charm fill every street. Feel the pulse of Rio de Janeiro, from the heights of Sugarloaf Mountain to the sands of Copacabana, before relaxing along the Costa Verde coast. Discover the crystal-clear waters of Cabo Frio, Arraial do Cabo, and Búzios, and conclude your journey in the tropical paradise of Ilha Grande.
Your tour begins in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, home to the spectacular Iguazu Falls, which literally mark the border between Brazil and Argentina. The falls are shared by Iguazu National Park in Argentina and Iguaçu National Park in Brazil, both designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1984 and 1987, respectively. Iguazu is the largest waterfall system in the world, a breathtaking natural wonder that captivates all who visit.
While the falls are the main attraction, the city of Foz do Iguaçu has plenty to offer on its own. Downtown comes alive at night with energetic bands, refreshing drinks, and locals whose passion for dance is nothing short of extraordinary.
Today take a day trip to the Argentinean side of the falls. Upon arrival, board a tourist train to reach the ‘Devil’s Throat’ circuit, where a guided tour introduces you to both the upper and lower circuits. Next, get ready to get wet on a thrilling boat ride close to the cascading waters. The day concludes with a spectacular helicopter ride over the falls, offering an unforgettable aerial perspective.
Before flying to Florianópolis, spend more time exploring the Iguazu area. Begin the morning with a guided visit to the Brazilian side of the falls, keeping an eye out for the rainbow that often stretches across the cascading waters. In the afternoon, visit the natural bird park, Parque das Aves, where you can encounter butterflies, monkeys, toucans, parrots, and yellow-breasted caimans.
Santa Catarina Island, known for its elegant resorts, charming hotels, beach clubs, and lively nightlife around Conceição Lagoon, is South Brazil’s most visited island. Using Florianópolis as our base, the morning and early afternoon are filled with highlights. Begin with a stroll along Campeche Central Beach and enjoy the views from Morro das Pedras. Continue to Caldeirão Beach, Peri Lagoon, Armação Beach, and Matadeiro Beach.
Cross the bridge to Ilha das Campanhas and visit the historic village of Ribeirão da Ilha. Admire the Dunas of Joaquina sand dunes and nearby Joaquina Beach, then explore Praia Mole, Barra da Lagoa, and its adjacent beach. Stop at the Ahaus (Belvedere) viewpoint, followed by visits to Conceição Lagoon, a viewpoint nearby, and Morro da Cruz Park viewpoint, taking in the island’s stunning landscapes and vibrant energy.
Today we explore the other half of Santa Catarina Island. Begin with a visit to the iconic Ponte Hercílio Luz bridge, then head into downtown Florianópolis to admire its street art, the cathedral, the Florianópolis Museum, the Cruz e Sousa Palace, and the bustling public market.
Next, stop at the viewpoint at Cacupé Beach, which is not for swimming, before visiting the historic village of Santo Antônio de Lisboa. Continue to São José da Ponta Grossa Fortress and Praia do Forte Beach. In the town of Jurerê, explore two beaches and one beach club, followed by visits to Canasjure Beach and Canasvieiras Beach, taking in the island’s rich history, scenic views, and lively coastal culture.
This morning we fly from Florianópolis to Belo Horizonte. From the airport, we travel to the colonial town of Mariana, where a guided tour introduces us to its historic charm. Founded on July 16, 1696, Mariana is the oldest town in Minas Gerais and retains the character of a baroque town with its churches, historic buildings, and museums.
After exploring Mariana, we continue to the colonial town of Ouro Preto, where we stay overnight, surrounded by its cobblestone streets and baroque architecture.
Before returning to Belo Horizonte for our flight to Rio de Janeiro, we explore Ouro Preto in depth with our tour guide. This former colonial town owes its wealth to the riches once mined beneath it. Today, Ouro Preto is a hub of arts and education, but its history as a center for mining and government has left a legacy of stunning baroque buildings and a lasting ambiance.
Although the town is steep and its sites are somewhat spread out, with 23 churches to explore, Ouro Preto remains one of Brazil’s most visited urban destinations. Narrow, stone-paved streets, spectacular panoramic views, and beautifully preserved architecture make it a must-see. It is one of the most authentic Portuguese town settlements not only in Minas Gerais but in all of Brazil.
Today we enjoy a guided tour of Brazil’s most iconic destination, Rio de Janeiro, aptly called the cidade maravilhosa, or marvelous city. Renowned for its dramatic mountainous setting, lush rainforest, exotic white-sand beaches, and clear waters, Rio offers a perfect mix of natural beauty and vibrant city life. Explore colonial architecture, soak in the tropical scenery, and experience the lively culture of the city.
Spend your mornings sightseeing, afternoons relaxing on the beaches, and evenings enjoying the nightlife in the Lapa district, where street bands perform and locals sing and celebrate with unmatched energy. Pedra do Sal also pulses with music and excitement. Lunch is included on today’s tour, giving you time to recharge amid the city’s festive atmosphere.
Today we take a daytrip from Rio de Janeiro, beginning in the beach town of Cabo Frio. There we visit Praia do Forte, Praia das Conchas, and Praia do Peró, enjoying the sun, sand, and sea. Next, we head to Arraial do Cabo, arriving at its dock for a boat tour that takes us to Praia do Forno, Pontal do Atalaia, and Praia Grande.
After the boat tour, stop at Praia dos Anjos’ lookout point for spectacular views before continuing to Búzios. Along the road, we pause for a scenic view of Prainha Beach. In Búzios, enjoy both a driving and walking tour, with the shops and restaurants highlighting the town’s fashionable and lively atmosphere. Known as the place to “see and be seen,” Búzios is full of style and energy. Return to Rio de Janeiro in the late evening.
Today’s daytrip from Rio de Janeiro takes us along the Costa Verde, or “Green Coast,” where exotic beaches and islands line the route. Highlights include the islands surrounding the municipality of Angra dos Reis and the stunning Ilha Grande. The tour includes a boat ride, snorkeling, and lunch, offering the perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, and tropical scenery.
Transportation will be arranged to take you to the airport in Rio de Janeiro, ensuring a smooth and stress-free departure.
