We depart from the hotel after breakfast to visit the most famous landmarks of the city and
see the natural beauty of Rio de Janeiro from up above. Rising up from a small peninsula at the entrance of Guanabara Bay, its name is said to refer to its resemblance to the traditional shape of a concentrated, refined sugar loaf.
Enjoy an easy ride on glass cable car as you make your way to the top of Urca Hill, 215 meters above sea level for spectacular views of the entire bay and its surrounding islands. From Urca Hill, you will take another cable car to reach the top of Sugar Loaf, 395 meters above sea level. Discover a panoramic view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, Corcovado Mountain and downtown Rio de Janeiro from here.
Afterwards, we descend the mountain and stop for a delicious lunch at “Assador”. Enjoy unobstructed views of Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf and the Burle Marx gardens as you munch on delicious meals. The main showcase is the skewers and boards that circulate the dining room, serving classics such as Skirt, Picanha, Hump steak, Lamb chops, and Ancho Beef, among other noble cuts such as Chorizo, Shoulder Steak and Tomahawk. Do not leave Assador without a taste of their prime ribs which are grilled for 10 hours! Sides include a good selection of fresh salads, vegetables, and a table of charcuterie and Brazilian artisanal cheeses.
Then, we will go to the bottom of the Corcovado Hill. Embark on a comfortable train that ascends the mountain, where the statue of Christ the Redeemer is located 2,300 ft above sea level.
