day 1 - Land in Negombo airport & transfer to Galle
Meet our representative on landing in Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Galle. Take some rest after checking in.
Today evening, you might get the opportunity to visit the imposing Galle Fort and discover this monument during a walking tour. This activity involves taking a local bus with your tour guide and traveling to Galle, whose famous fort was originally built by the Portuguese and later expanded by the Dutch in 1663. This fort spans over 90 acres and is Asia's largest colonial-built fort. Enjoy sunset views from its ramparts before heading back to your accommodation.
day 2 - Galle – Kanneliya – Weligama
Head for Kanneliya Rainforest after enjoying your breakfast at the hotel. Although less-trodden and unknown to most travelers, this jungle is home to an impressive variety of flora and fauna. Discover the rainforest with your wildlife tracker host. Your exciting morning walk takes under thick tropical canopies that provide refuge to monkeys, snakes and chameleons. Multitudes of birds flutter from branch to branch, while plants and flowers blanket the jungle floor.
Stop to savor the sounds of the jungle and listen to the drone of a nearby waterfall. There are 80 villages in and around the forest, one of which is your host’s home. You can have lunch prepared by the host's wife in the shallows of a lake if you wish to.
Then transfer to a hilltop boutique hotel surrounded by the jungle. This is where you will spend the night.
day 3 - Weligama
Start your day with a delicious breakfast. How about enjoying spa and yoga sessions (optional) at your hotel today? You can also go for paddle-boarding in the nearby lake if you wish to.
You are free to take the nearby trail that snakes its way past lush paddy fields, rubber and cinnamon estates as well as lakes and gardens. Don’t forget to carry a binocular wit you to discover the colorful array of birdlife at a wetland sanctuary.
day 4 - Weligama – Koslanda
Leave Weligama after a leisurely breakfast and drive towards Koslanda for your overnight stay. Check into your hotel and chill out at its amazing infinity pool that offers a breathtaking view to the mountains.
Tonight you can enjoy an optional dinner experience in Jungle Ambalama, which is located at the head of a waterfall and provides the perfect spot for a romantic picnic.
day 5 - Koslanda – Ella – Koslanda
Start your day with a scrumptious breakfast. Today, you have the following options to choose from. The first experience involves learning to make egg hoppers, one of Sri Lanka’s favorite roadside snacks? This simple yet delicious and filling hopper is an island-wide staple. Join a cooking class and learn how to impress your friends back at home with this exotic breakfast treat.
The second optional experience takes you to the hill country of Ella. This beautiful destination is surrounded by mountains, tea plantations and greenery. It is a great place to relax and wind down. You can also visit the Ella Gap, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area, as well as Ravana Falls.
Another must-see highlight of Ella is the picturesque Nine Arches Bridge, which was built during the British colonial period. This architectural masterpiece is a great spot to take a souvenir photo from your trip. This trip comes to an end after you have hiked to the top of Little Adam’s Peak, a 30-minute climb.
The last optional experience today involves a picnic lunch and swim in our private waterfall with a natural swimming hole.
You will spend the night in Koslanda.
day 6 - Koslanda – Nuwara Eliya – Kandy
Proceed to the railway station in Haputale after a delicious breakfast and enjoy a journey through Sri Lanka's most scenic railway line. The railway journey to Nuwara Eliya takes you through spice and banana plantations as well as through forests of pine and eucalyptus trees. The scenery is at its best from Haputale as you travel past Saint Clair and Devon waterfalls.
After about two hours, you will arrive at the railway station in Nanu Oya, where our representative will meet you. From here, it is a 15-minute drive to Nuwara Eliya, also known as 'Sri Lanka's little England'
Nuwara Eliya is a city in the hill country of the Central Province of Sri Lanka. The city is considered to be one of the most important locations for tea cultivation and is well known for its cool climate. Many of the buildings here have preserved their features from the colonial period, while most private homes in the area have maintained their old English- style lawns and gardens.
In between the city tour you will be experiencing a visit to a tea plantation and tea factory. Then transfer to the royal city of Kandy and visit the Temple of The Tooth. This famous temple is an important pilgrimage site not just for the Buddhists in Sri Lanka but the world over. It is located on Victoria Lake and is said to house the tooth of Lord Buddha.
Please note that the train tickets can be purchased on the previous day with the help of your tour guide and it is strictly dependent on availability. We cannot guarantee that you will get the tickets for a particular class carriage. The total duration of this train journey is approximately four
hours.
day 7 - Free day in Kandy
Today is a free day. You can explore this fascinating city on your own or book one of our optional activities to make the most of your stay in Kandy. The optional experienced include a floating breakfast in your private plunge pool and spa treatments.
day 8 - Kandy
Start your day early with a guided hike to the hidden Bambaragala Temple and trek to the top of Pettigala Rock. The trail up to the summit starts from the temple. Spend sometime in the temple and explore its cobbled courtyards before heading up a hill to Pettigala. Return to your hotel after the tour is over.
day 9 - Kandy – Kalkudah
Meet your chauffer guide after a leisurely breakfast and transfer to the palm fringed beach of Kalkudah. On the way to Kalkudah, you will also get the chance to discover the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
Also included today is a floral bath session. There is nothing like sipping tea while laying in a fragrant bed of tropical flowers. At night, you will enjoy a stargazing session along with a guide and a professional-grade telescope.
day 10 - Free day in Kalkudah
Spend your day on a beach in Kalkudah.
day 11 - Kalkudah stay continues
You have yet another free day Kalkudah. The optional activity today is enjoying a movie under the stars.
day 12 - Kalkudah – Dambulla – Sigiriya
Leave Kalkudah after breakfast and head for Sigiriya. Along the way, you will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a Unesco heritage site that is home to numerous grottos containing Buddhist sculptures and paintings. Some of the oldest caves here go back to the first century BC. Today's optional experience involves climbing Pidurangala Rock late in the afternoon and enjoying picnic in nature.
day 13 - Dambulla
Enjoy an adventurous hike to the top of Sigiriya after breakfast. This fortress dates back to the fifth century. At its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace including a garden complete with a swimming pool. On one of the stairways, the only known ancient artwork of Sinhala secular painting is preserved in the form of frescoes of life-sized damsels in all their original color.
Next, experience a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park. The safari can be customized based on your choice from the included half-day experience to the optional full-day one taking place in both morning and evening hours. Return to your hotel at the end of the experience and relax.
The other option that you have today is an exclusive dinner that involves a seven-course meal on a on a floating barge in the hotel's natural pool or just under a star filled sky (to be paid directly).
day 14 - Sigiriya – Colombo
Check out of the hotel after breakfast and enjoy a village tour of Hiriwadunna. Ride a bicycle through the gravel roads of the village and between paddy fields. You might also want to visit a rural house and quench your thirst with a cup of tea or herbal drink served by a villager. Also, during the cycle tour, you will visit a local temple and will be blessed by a monk for good luck.
Transfer to the city of Colombo after this experience is over. Discover the busy streets of Colombo that is home to modern high-rise buildings as well as old colonial ones. Galle Face Green in Colombo, the favorite hangout spot for locals and tourists alike, overlooks the beautiful Indian Ocean and is surrounded by grander buildings. Similarly, Viharamahadevi Devi Park, with its tall flowering trees that bloom during April, is a serene place in the middle of this busy city.
day 15 - Colombo departure
Enjoy your breakfast and prepare for departure. in case you want to enjoy an optional experience today, there is a morning boat ride over the waters of Negombo. This cruise trip takes between 8:00 am and 10.00 am.
