Itinerary

Imagine trekking through a Himalayan valley adorned with glacial vistas and ancient monasteries—welcome to the Langtang Valley View Treks, a journey just north of Kathmandu, Nepal. Known as the 'valley of glacial masses,' Langtang is dominated by the striking Langtang Lirung (7,246m) and offers a paradise of pine forests, mountain streams, and lush green slopes.

This trek is a tapestry of Tibetan-influenced culture and natural beauty. Wander through welcoming Tamang villages, where local smiles and traditions create genuine moments of connection. Along the way, visit centuries-old Buddhist monasteries, adding a spiritual layer to your adventure.

A highlight for many is the optional, non-technical ascent of Kyangjin Ri (4,900m). No prior climbing experience is needed, and the 360-degree views from the summit reward every step. The return journey meanders back through the valley’s dramatic scenery, concluding at Syabru Besi before a scenic drive to Kathmandu.

Perfect for trekkers seeking a blend of culture and breathtaking Himalayan scenery, this trip balances moderate activity with meaningful encounters, making it an unforgettable journey through Nepal’s lesser-trodden trails.

Excellent Langtang Valley Trek

This was our second trek in Nepal having done Poon Hill in 2018. The Langtang Valley route is less crowded than Poon Hill. The trek is not easy with lots of ups and downs and a certain level of fitness is required. However, our efforts were well-rewarded with varied and breath-taking scenery along the route. The tea houses varied in level of comfort provided, with some having en suite western bathrooms while others, such as the Lama Hotel, were very basic with shared squat-style toilets and an outside shower room. The road to Syabrubesi is long and bumpy - I would definitely recommend getting the private jeep from Kathmandu. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the Langtang Valley trek and would recommend it.
