I highly recommend this trip. The accommodations, guide, and activities were all top notch, especially for the price point. Kenya is a beautiful country with welcoming people and incredible animals to be discovered! It’s a fast paced tour with lots to do, and the only thing I would do to improve this trip agenda would be to add another full day at Masai Mara (but keep everything else the same). It was just so magical, I’d of loved another day (I guess I’ll just have to come back!). That being said, the other activities such as the masaii village, mirrors of hope tour, elephant sanctuary etc. were all so incredible too. Don’t miss out! Do this trip!!

This was undoubtedly the best trip I have ever been on! To the person who planned, implemented and succesfully put this amazing experience together - the next round is on me! Thank you! The Trip Managers were exceptional, and put any worries or concerns I had away from first contact until the end of the trip. They were not only highly qualified Safari Guides but also drove the safari vehicles (which were perfect for spotting the Big 5) and made the trip safe, informative and fun. From seeing a cheetah walking into the sunset on our first day and the countless lion sightings in the Maasai Mara to meeting the inspiring people at the Mirror of Hope Foundation to watching the sun rise on Kilimanjaro in Kenya. To then crossing the border and seeing the never ending abundance of wildlife in Tanzania's diverse parks - elephants, hippos, buffalo, lions, giraffe, zebra, warthogs, more lions, leopards in trees at sunset... they just kept coming and coming and each sighting was more special than the next... this will always stay with me. The accommodation was WAY better than I expected, I had monkeys swinging from trees most days in front of my deck/porch, mongooses playing around the garden beds and even the Great Migration walking right past our Special Stay tented camp in the middle of the Serengeti. En-suite toilets, plush linen on King sized beds, electricty and hot water, tea & coffee stations and all with great views into nature to look out for wildlife walking past. As for the food, with buffet meals every day, I certainly didnt leave this trip skinnier and couldnt get enough of the local cuisine along side some international flavours. This trip might be pricey, you might be concerned about what people might "think" they know about Africa but this trip took my breathe away, will stay with me forever and I cant wait to go back on another safari in the future. Just do it...

It was a well organised trip with a lot of game drive Safaris. Accommodation was good except for a couple of places that were very basic. Food was always plenty and good.

Amazing 11 days with fantastic local trip managers who knew all the animals, plants and parks like the back of their hand. We saw all Big 5 within days including cheetah, leopard and lion kills. The parks chosen to visit give a lot of variety to each game drive so it’s never repetitive! Our TM’s were a wealth of knowledge and extremely personable and witty- great banter and always happy to help. Days could be long up to 10 hrs game driving but we saw so many animals and big cats so it was worth it. The accomodation was superb, staying in the actual reserves was incredible, listening to lion calls while falling asleep. Mozzie nets provided and bottled water at all lodges. All the food offered was delicious, mainly buffets with local and western style dishes and catered for lots of dietary restrictions. Only 2-3 meals not included In the price which is far better than other tour companies. The trip is a smaller contiki group than other European ones, we had 8 for Kenya and 6 for Tanzania but two safari jeeps and two trip managers so it was a close knit group. The slum tour and Masai village tour was eye opening and a must do. I didn’t feel unsafe once and all the locals we met were friendly and excited to meet us. Overall, not a party contiki but beers and a safari sunset while enjoying all that Africa has to offer is once in a lifetime opportunity. Tip: bring sanitary products for the women at the Masai village to give at the end of the female discussion.

I went into the trip with no expectations and came out with the best experiences! Our trip manager, was extremely knowledgeable and let me pick his brain about everything - the wildlife, the culture in Kenya, the way politics and the system works, and much more. In fact, any time we were stopped during the actual safari, it felt like and were the only ones giving us updates and information on the wildlife while the other vehicles were silent. We were lucky enough to see all of the Big 5, but even luckier to see much more than that (and ask , and our other driver, so many questions!). I think my favorite part of the trip was the Masai Village tour, which was such an unique experience to learn how different societies live. I love that Contiki takes the time to go into the community and give us that immersive experience. A few things to keep in mind for those that are interested: 1. It's a lot of sitting and driving around since we're going from park to park. This is awesome because you get to see wildlife in so many different places but if you're like me with creaky bones, you may get a bit stiff. 2. On Day 7, you get dropped off near the airport. That whole morning, you will be going on a game drive and by the end we were pretty dusty. If we were going to do it differently, we would probably have flown out the next day but since we didn't we ended up at the hotel, a few of us got a day room and showered, since we felt pretty gross, before hopping on our flights. Definitely plan this into your itinerary! 3. This is a part of a modular trip that goes from Kenya to Tanzania. I was just able to do the Kenya part but it would have been awesome to have gone to Tanzania as well! All in all, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this trip. This was my first Contiki trip and it exceeded my expectations so much that I've already booked another for next year. Thank you again to my whole group, and the mastermind behind the Africa operations at Contiki (iykyk) for this amazing trip!

I had an amazing time on the Kenya Safari trip! Everything was taken care of and organized so well, from the quality of the food to accomodation. Haron was the perfect trip manager who briefed us every day so we would know what to expect. We were extremely lucky with all the animals we saw, but it was also because of the efforts made by the trip managers. The add-ons were worth it and I dare say, with this trip you might end up doing some activities you probably wouldn't do if you were on your own/with family. So I would definitly recommend this trip!
