Start in Entebbe and travel through the awe-inspiring Murchison Falls, the scenic Crater Lakes region, and the forests of Kibale National Park, celebrated for its primate tracking—especially chimpanzees.

Marvel at the Rwenzori Mountains and embark on game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to the famous tree-climbing lions. The journey’s highlight is gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, providing an unforgettable encounter with these gentle giants.

day 1 - Uganda arrival & transfer to the hotel

Meet your driver on arrival at Entebbe Airport and transfer to your hotel in the city. You are free for the rest of the day. Depending on the arrival time, you have the option to take a walk through Entebbe or visit the city's botanical gardens.

day 2 - Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park

Drive to Murchison Falls after the breakfast. The scenic drive takes you through the plains of Nakasongola to the Budongo Forest where you might encounter primates along with a variety of bird species. Check into your lodge after an epic view of the Murchison Falls from the top.

day 3 - Game drive and Murchison Falls boat trip

Explore the northern section of Murchison Falls National Park after an early breakfast. This area has a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and take pictures of colorful birds as well as elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes and Ugandan kobs. You might even come across lions and leopards if you are lucky.

Return to your accommodation for lunch. Next, prepare for a launch trip to the base of the majestic cascade. This trip might as well be the highlight of your Murchison Falls visit. Get up close with different animal species as you embark on a three-hour journey to the base of the Murchison Falls in the afternoon.

Cruise past huge pods of hippos, crocodiles, bathing buffalos and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfalls. You will get the opportunity to take thousands of pictures along the way.

day 4 - Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest

Drive through an escarpment after breakfast while enjoying great views of the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift Valley. This region is home to numerous lakes like George, Edward and Albert.

See the beautiful Fort Portal, a lovely town nestled in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon, which is famous for its tea plantations. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way as you pass the Crater Lakes region on your way to the secluded Primate Lodge (or similar) located inside Kibale Forest National Park.

day 5 - Chimpanzee tracking & Bigodi Swamp

Start the day tracking chimpanzees in the heart of Kibale. This reserve boasts the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa, providing sightings of wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys.

After a hearty lunch, transfer to Bigodi to visit a local community initiative, the Bigodi Wetland Walk. Be on the lookout for primates and the rare great blue turaco, one of the 138 bird species found in the swamp area.

day 6 - Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & evening game drive

Explore different crater lakes that contribute to the stunning beauty of the region after breakfast. Thereafter, continue to Kasese for lunch and coffee and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy an evening game drive in the national park before proceeding to the lodge.

day 7 - Queen Elizabeth National Park: Game drive & boat cruise

Your day begins with an early breakfast after which we go for a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, which act as a mating ground for the kobs of the national park. You might spot waterbucks, buffaloes, elephants, lions and warthogs in the plains.

Enjoy a boat cruise in the Kazinga Channel after lunch. Kazinga is a natural channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. See different species of animals and birds as you sail down the channel.

day 8 - Game drive & transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Embark on a game drive in the plains of Ishasha after an early morning breakfast. There is a chance that you might encounter tree-climbing lions today. The landscape of the Ishasha Plains is unique compared with other parts of the national park. We will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the afternoon.

day 9 - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: Gorilla trekking experience

Proceed to the park office for registration and briefing after an early breakfast. Today you will get the chance to see the largest and heaviest primate in its natural habitat. Trekking through Bwindi in search of these majestic creatures sometimes involves walking uphill through steep and densely forested hills.

It may take between three to eight hours under muddy and strenuous conditions, sometimes with rain, to find your assigned group. But all these difficulties cease to exist the moment you come face to face with amazing mountain gorillas.

day 10 - Drive back to Entebbe & departure

Leave the forests of Bwindi behind and make your way back through villages and rolling hills to Entebbe. Keep an eye out for zebras, impalas and other plain game as you pass through Lake Mburo National Park, on your way to the equator. Enjoy your lunch en route before continuing on to Entebbe for your flight back home. We can arrange an extra night in the city at an additional cost if you want to.
