Uganda Eco Tour Reviews

Honest insights from past guests on our Eco Uganda tours

It was a near perfect trip. Our guides Robert and Umar were knowledgeable guides who looked after us superbly. Even the rough road conditions could not lessen our enjoyment during the trip. The accommodation settings were ideal because they were in amongst the forest and wildlife which were on our doorsteps and plentiful. Local people were friendly and unassuming, even the Batwa tribe were adorable after what they had been through. All and all, a memorable holiday.

Fabulous trip, with exciting wildlife encounters, exceptional hospitality and profound cultural experiences. The highlight was definitely the awe-inspiring and emotional encounter with the mountain gorillas. Beyond the gorillas, walking with giraffe and zebras, trekking to see the cutest golden monkeys and the abundance of other wildlife; warthogs, hippos, hyena, impala, crocodiles, waterbucks, mongoose, so many birds, monkeys and countless baboons were all amazing. Great itinerary, ensuring we made the most of every moment with some very early starts and long drives. All the accommodation was comfortable and inviting, and the hospitality we received was exceptional, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. Our knowledgeable tour leaders were skilled drivers, great at spotting wildlife along the roads, enriching our experience with their local insights. Visiting local communities and learning about the efforts being made to empower women was inspiring. One of the most interesting parts of the trip was visiting the Batwa village. Highly recommended!

Excellent

It was a challenging trip with all the long driving days just to set up camp and pack up the next morning to do more driving. I guess I didn’t realize how draining it would actually be . But overall , the activities made it a good experience and I will be happy to use G adventures again in the future

An excellent and varied intinerary with comfortable accommodation in spectacular locations and knowledgeable tour leaders. The highlight was observing the gorillas - we were lucky enough to encounter a family of six, including a baby, after a relatively short trek of an hour - but the trip also included a fascinating visit to the indigenous Batwa people and provided many opportunities to support local communities and women's empowerment projects. Highly recommended.

Uganda is definitely the Pearl of Africa

By far the most emotional wildlife experience ever and a true bucket list adventure. The abundant wildlife took my breath away. From being entertained by the Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest to Gorilla trekking, even spotted 2 leopards on our night safari and a python swallowing an impala on our safari walk optional excursion. There are a few long drives but see it as free "African massage". This tour is also highly recommended for bird watchers and had to chance to see African Grey's, Shoebills, Turacos, Malachite's and Kingfishers. The Lodges on this trip will maximise your animal-watching experience and all the rooms are spacious. Haven Lodge staff even treats you with warm water bottles in your bed at turndown service. The food was delicious with a huge variety to choose from. Overall, the best experience ever.

Excellent tour where close encounters with a variety of animals, most notably Mountain Gorillas, are virtually guaranteed (with all the planning involved, you'd be extremely unlucky not to see Gorillas in Bwindi). On the tour you also find out about the efforts made in conserving these rare animals and how that sometimes impacts on the human residents in the area both positively and negatively. The formation of several community groups, particularly focused on providing education and sustainable employment, particularly for women, is also shown
