Itinerary

Unveil the many faces of Saudi Arabia on this 14-day tour from Riyadh to Jeddah, crafted for travelers who relish history, culture, and off-the-beaten-path experiences. This moderate-activity journey reveals a land where ancient trade routes, prehistoric rock art, and bustling souks coexist with mountain hideaways and Red Sea charm.

Marvel at AlUla’s Nabatean ruins, second only to Petra, and navigate the winding roads of Al Bahah, home to cave dwellings and hidden villages. In Jeddah, lose yourself in the UNESCO-listed old town and take a boat ride along Yanbu’s coast. Along the way, witness chaotic camel markets and savor the region’s diverse cuisine.

The trip’s unique selling point lies in its rare access to a country just opening up to tourism, offering a blend of deep history and vibrant modernity that’s hard to find elsewhere. For seasoned explorers, this tour package promises stories and sights few have seen.

Great country to visit with many sites. Accommodation of high standard for an explore trip.

I got much, much more from this trip then expected. Everything was so new and interesting. I like how Arabs take care of old traditional buildings in Diriyah and Ushaiqer, maintaining ancient Naidi architecture stile, while building new like Kingdom tower and similar in Riyadh and Jedda. For lovers of cave-dwellings mountain Shada is perfect place. Those granite caves and grottos people inhabited until recently. Beautiful and unusual experience.

The trip to Saudi Arabia was amazing. It was a full packed trip with a variety of experiences. There were so many highlights for me - The Prophet's Mosque, Hegra, Yanbu (boat ride and snorkeling), the Camel Market and seeing so many camels along the way, just to mention a few. Our tour leader, Daniel was incredible! He was very organized, knowledgeable, thoughtful and created an enjoyable and informative experience for everyone. The local tour guides were also great and answered so many questions. I was impressed by how welcoming and friendly the Saudi people were to us. It was a memorable and eye opening experience that I will treasure.

There was a lot of time wasted in Alula driving back and forth to the camp. I think 1 night at the camp would be enough and then stay closer to town. It was an hour drive each way every day. The walk to The Arch rock formation should be part of the itinerary. Someone on our trip knew about it so we all walked there. It was behind camp. Enjoyed that. Clothing was not as restrictive as I was led to believe. The abaya was not needed at the camel market. Women can also wear capri’s and short sleeve tops with no problem. Loved the trip and recommend it

For anyone wanting to visit a country that is new to tourism & undergoing significant change this is a good trip. There are a lot of kilometers travelled with some long days but the itinerary makes that clear. Many highlights on the trip at Al Ula, Medina, Thee Ain & Jeddah. The Saudi people were very welcoming & friendly and the country seemed very safe.

Saudi Arabia is entirely different from what I expected. Everyone is friendly and there are grand sights to see everywhere Toufic was an excellent leader. He managed to take care of a great many people with conflicting goals. He was compassionate, knowledgeable, eminently able throughout. If anyone had a problem, Toufic addressed it and solved it.

Toufic was disappointing. Sometimes fine. Sometimes cranky. Sometimes condescending. This was my first (and probably last) trip with Explorer and tour leaders on other companies were much better. The tour leaders in Medina and Jeddah walked way too fast so people could not keep up with them, take pictures, and rarely hear their explanations. In spite of requests, Toufic did not deal with them. In Medina, the tour lost me (Toufic was supposed to be at the back of the group) and only by finding a hotel with WiFi and using WhatsApp was I found. No meeting place was arranged. I am not sure how I would revise the itinerary but a 14 hour driving day was poor. The rose factory was a waste of time. I liked learning about the changes in Saudi. There were many interesting sites and landscapes. I’m glad I went but would not recommend without changes in the itinerary.
