Itinerary

Beijing, Luoyang and Xian are three of the four great ancient capitals of China, attracting countless travelers from all over the world with their unique highlights. Beijing has its Great Wall and Forbidden City, while Luoyang is known for Longmen grottoes and Shaolin Temple. Xian, on the other hand, is where the famous Terracotta Army and the lesser known City Wall of Xian are.

Join us to discover these three cities, rich in cultural heritage and history, during this seven-day, private, guided tour. Get fascinating insights into Chinese history and learn more about its ancient past. With accommodation, transport and sightseeing tours taken care of, all you need to do is sit back and relax.

day 1 - Beijing arrival

Our driver will meet you at the airport or the train station on arrival and transfer you to your downtown hotel. You are free for the rest of the day.

day 2 - Great Wall (Mutianyu section) & Dingling Mausoleum

The first stop on today's itinerary is Dingling Mausoleum, one of the 13 Ming tombs in Beijing. This mausoleum is home to the burial site of the 13th Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yijun, and his wife and concubine. Next, visit a jade carving factory before going for lunch at a local restaurant.

Continue to the Great Wall, specifically its Mutianyu section. This part of the Great Wall is famed of its magnificent landscape, while also being less crowded and touristy (cable cars are available and optional, you can pay for them on the spot).

After the tour is over, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

day 3 - Beijing: Forbidden City & Summer Palace day tour

Our guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel in the morning for your Beijing city tour. The first stop is Tian’anmen Square, the largest downtown city square in the world. Next, head for the Forbidden City, which used to be home to Ming and Qing emperors.

As the world’s largest and best-preserved palace complex, the Forbidden City is listed among the top five palaces in the world. Pay a visit to a traditional Chinese medicine market where you will learn more about the unique practices associated with Chinese traditional medicine. You even have the opportunity to buy some as souvenirs if you want to.

Enjoy your lunch before making your way to the Temple of Heaven, where emperors once worshipped. This is followed by the Summer Palace, the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden.

We will drive you back to your hotel after the tour is over.

day 4 - Beijing – Luoyang by high speed train

Your driver will pick you up in the morning and transfer you to Beijing West Train Station for your high speed train to Luoyang (G671/ 07:49 – 12:10). Meet your tour guide in Luoyang upon deboarding the train. He will be waiting for you at the exit with a name board.

After lunch, head for the famous Longmen Grottoes, a treasure house of ancient stone-carving art. There are more than 100,000 stone statues here, their size varying from two centimetres to 14 metres and above. Located around 12 kilometres away from Luoyang city, these grottoes are one of the three most important Buddhist caves and rock carvings in China.

We will then take you to Luoyang Old Street, where you will find stalls selling a variety of crafts and snacks.

day 5 - Luoyang – Xian by high speed train

Your tour guide will pick you up at 8:30 am and drive you to the Shaolin Temple, famous all over the world as the birthplace of Chinese Zen Buddhism and kung fu. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will drive to the Luoyang Museum, a historic museum that houses over 1,700 cultural and historic relics in five showrooms, a presentation of five different periods of social development.

We will then transfer you to the train station for your high-speed train to Xian (G823/ 17:57 – 19:30). Meet your local driver on arrival in Xian and transfer you to your hotel.

day 6 - Xian: Terracotta warriors day tour

Meet the tour guide at your hotel lobby and head for the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. On the way to the museum, we will stop by a terracotta factory where you can learn more about how the statues were made in the past. You can also purchase some as souvenirs if you want to.

Explore the museum famous for its life-size terracotta figurines comprising soldiers, generals and horses. After lunch, you will board the van to the next stop: the Ancient City Wall of Xian, one of the largest and most complete ancient military systems of defence in the world.

We will drop you off at the hotel after the tour is over.

day 7 - Xian tour and departure

Meet your tour guide at the lobby of your hotel and head for the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. This pagoda is one of the two well preserved Tang Dynasty Buddhist pagodas in Xian. Your next destination is the Xian Museum, followed by the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The tour comes to an end after you have seen Xian's bell and drum tower as well as its Muslim quarter.

We will then transfer you to the airport or the train station for your next destination.
