Itinerary
For those with a bold spirit and a thirst for adventure, the "Bhutan Snowman Trek" promises an unparalleled trekking journey through one of the Himalayas’ most remote regions. Spanning 27 days from Paro, this strenuous tour is regarded as Bhutan’s most challenging trek—crossing ten high passes over 4,500m and accessing the secluded Lunana region, a feat achieved by only a select few each year. Alongside dramatic views of Jomolhari and Jichu Drake, you’ll encounter yak herders, isolated villages, and centuries-old Buddhist monasteries, all set against a backdrop of towering peaks. Accommodations, meals, and logistics are expertly managed, allowing experienced travelers and adventurous seniors to focus solely on the breathtaking landscapes and cultural encounters. The tour’s unique selling point? Its status as a once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan odyssey, offering both physical challenge and cultural immersion in a land rarely seen by outsiders.
day 1Join in Paro (2,200 m / 7,218 ft)
Welcome to Bhutan! On arrival in Paro (2,200 m / 7,218 ft), clear customs and immigration before meeting your World Expeditions representative. From the airport, it is a short drive through Paro’s main street to our accommodation.
In the afternoon, we will come together for a group briefing with your leader, who will outline what to expect on the trek and the journey ahead. The briefing will include a gear check and an opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.
Depending on our arrival time, we will also explore the main part of Paro and visit the National Museum, providing a relaxed introduction to Bhutan before the adventure ahead.

Customer Reviews
The Bhutan Snowman Trek is everything that is written and said about it. Spectacular landscapes, amazing people and culture and physically challenging unless you are super fit.
My Snowman Trek experience with World Expeditions was great from the first online chat and phone call through the trip wrap up. The guides were top notch and experienced--and also enriched our experience with their knowledge of Bhutanese history, culture, wildlife and specifics on the region. The trip staff who handled the meal prep and camp set up and pack up were true partners, the pre-trip information and guidance was helpful and the logistics were handled seamlessly.
Mountain heaven and hell all wrapped in the same package!
Awesome
A tough challenge, but rewarding in many, many ways: beautiful mountains, lovely people, great company, good food and wonderful support crew.
