I'm finally writing my review after being home for a month. What an interesting trip. Great people along the way, marvelous scenery in both the cities and the countryside. The accommodation ranged from 5 star to quirky and the hosts were always warm and welcoming. The homestays were a highlight with lovely people in stunning settings. All the guides (and drivers) were knowledgeable and ready to share their knowledge of the sites around us. The trip was a great highlight of central Asia and I would go back in a shot.
An exciting and fascinating Adventure Tour through a mix of amazing Central Asian countries. Each of the Five Stans was unique, as were the caring and very knowledgeable guides. The meals were great; accommodation was good to amazing.
Fascinating, varied, inspiring from historical, cultural, scenic perspectives. This journey challenged my geopolitical biases and introduced me to some truly extraordinary people- both fellow travellers and guides. For me- just a bit more time in beautiful mountainous Kyrgyzstan please. In any event I will be returning
I am very please with the 5 Stans trip. The guides were wonderful and helpful. The hospitality was great. The trip had introduced us with new, amazing cultures, traditions and people.
A fascinating taste of Central Asia, from a cultural and scenic viewpoint. Unforgettable.
Good value for an overview of the Stans.
A fascinating and full-on trip. We learned so much about the culture, history (ancient and modern), geography, geology and politics of this extraordinary string of countries. Excellent guides, too.
Would I do this trip again? No. Would I recommend this trip? No. Would I revisit these countries? Yes.
The standard pf accommodation a most places was unacceptable. The days too long and places mentioned in itinerary not always visited. Some buses were dirty and uncomfortable
The guides were very good but delivered far too much historic information. additionally as a group of 60- to 75 year olds guides need to stop for lunch rather than push through to 3pm which often happened All guides should start the day with an outline of the days activity and a rough timeline
