Their cinnamon is famous for being the best and most abundant in the world! As you discover the beautiful beaches and incredible lagoon watch how Negombo dishes out some of the best lobsters, prawns, and crabs found in the country. After a delicious breakfast, you will be transferred north to Dambulla. Situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, Dambulla is a large town in the Matale District. Explore this ancient city with its deep roots in history and discover its best legendary 2000-year-old landmark “Dambulla Cave Temple”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fascinating site is known to be the best-preserved and largest cave temple complex in the country. The areas surrounding the cave complex are full of religious statues and murals and boasts the most extensive rose quartz mountain ranges in South Asia. We recommend embarking on an optional tour of the Dambulla Cave Temple. We also suggest heading on the optional tour of the 25-acre Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Here you may spread the love to elephants of all walks of life and observe their daily routine!

Optional: Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Visit the massive column of rock (over 200 meters or 656 ft tall) situated in the northern Natalen district of Sri Lanka. This well-preserved site is one of the earliest examples of ancient urban planning and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Step through the gigantic “Lion Paws” overlooking the symmetrical royal gardens to discover the splendor that once dominated this rock fortress. Surrounded by ramparts and moats, the Lion Rock, resembling the mythological “City of Gods”, is coated by incredible frescoes. These relate to the Gupta-style paintings found in the Ajanta Caves of India.
Optional: Visit Polonnaruwa Cultural Site
Polonnaruwa, the second historic capital of Sri Lanka, was built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD and remains a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya, where four extraordinary statues of the Buddha carved out of rock can be seen in their 'upright', 'sedentary' and 'recumbent' positions. Discover the magnificent Audience Hall, the incredible Lotus Bath, the statue of King Parakramabahu, and the Parakrama Samudraya — a lake built by King Parakramabahu the Great. There are many other famous places of worship to discover, such as the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilaka, and the Watadage. Uncover the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of the former Temple of the Tooth Relic.
After breakfast, we will travel to Kandy via Matale, an agricultural zone in the central province. Matale is home to various crops including tea, rubber, vegetables, and spices of many kinds. Enjoy a break by the side of the spice garden to discover the therapeutic values and benefits of their unique spices and processes over a cup of herbal tea! Upon arriving in Kandy, you may enjoy a stroll across the small lakeside town as you discover the City Centre cradled among the misty hills. Discover world-class brands, a fascinating bazaar, an arts and crafts center, and a gem museum and lapidary. Walk-in color as you discover the fresh fruits and vegetables of the Kandy Market. Fine-tune your evening by moving to the beat of the traditional music and drumming amplified by a cultural show, enhancing the rich and vibrant culture of Sri Lanka (not included in the tour: available at an additional cost). You will get the opportunity to experience an ancient Kandyan legacy at the Temple of Sacred Tooth, a relic of Lord Buddha (not included in the tour, available at an additional cost), before returning to the hotel.

Feel free to jump in the water, partake in beach sports such as windsurfing or volleyball, or meet with local fishermen to learn about their catch of the day! At your leisure, you may also embark on picturesque train rides or visit the bustling capital city of Colombo that is only 30 km (18miles) away.
