For those yearning to conquer Africa’s second-highest peak, the “4 Days Mt. Kenya Sirimon Route and Down Sirimon” trek offers both challenge and inspiration. This guided adventure, suitable for fit young adults and active seniors, follows the scenic Sirimon route through lush valleys, with opportunities for wildlife and birdwatching on the approach.

The ascent traverses Liki and Mackinder’s Valleys before reaching Shipton’s Camp, where you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Mt. Kenya’s glistening peaks. While the trek is graded as moderate to strenuous, no technical climbing skills are required—just determination and good physical condition.

day 1 - Day 1: Nairobi to Sirimon Gate 2650m-Old Moses 3300m

Leave Nairobi at 0700am and drive through the Central Highlands to arrive at Nanyuki by 10am. You will have a short break as you do your last shopping before you start your trek. You will also link up with your Porters and the Assistant Guides here. Have lunch and proceed to Sirimon Gate.

Check in and start hiking through the rain forest to Old Moses Camp at 3300m. Diner and Overnight at the Huts. The distance is 9kms and it takes 3hrs.

day 2 - Day 2: Old Moses 33oom - to Shipton's Camp 4200m

Breakfast is served at 7am. Hike through the Liki and Mackinder's Valleys to Shipton's Camp at 4200m. Lunch is served en route. The distance to Shipton’s Camp from old Moses camp is 17kms it takes 6-7 hours.

Dinner and overnight at the Shipton's huts.

day 3 - Day 3: Point Lenana 4985m- Old Moses Huts 3300m

Wake at 2.30am for tea and biscuits and proceed to Point Lenana at 4985m. This takes 3 hours, arriving in time for sunrise. If the weather is clear and permitting you will see Kilimanjaro. Afterward, we descend to Shipton's Camp for full breakfast.

Leave Shipton's at 10am for Old Moses, You will arrive at Old Moses by 3.00pm for dinner and overnight.

day 4 - Day 4: Old Moses to Nairobi

After breakfast, leave Old Moses for park gate. From Here you will be driven to Nanyuki for where you bid farewell to the Porters, Guide and Cook. Then a 3 hrs drive back to Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon.
