Wonderful vibrant city of Istanbul with a blend of European and Asian culture. Very tourist friendly with excellent city transport system. The Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome and Grand Bazaar were all easily accessible from the hotel. One must see Dolmabahce Palace. Cappadocia with its chimney spires are worth seeing. The well preserved Kaymakli village was interesting. Ephesus and Pamukkale are not to be missed. Reading a bit of history prior to your visit is helpful. At least three days in Istanbul if not more. The hotels,airport transfers and all the tours were very well organized.

Our tour of Montalcino and tasting of Brunello was informational, fun, and delicious. Our guide, Giuliana, took my overall enjoyment and knowledge of wine to another level, all in beautifully accented English. She was welcoming and knowledgeable and read the room well, giving attention to those with questions and leaving others alone. She had an easy friendliness with us and with the owners and staff of at the vineyards. A sober driver who capably tackled the stony hills and cliffs of Montalcino, she took us to vineyards all over the mountain, so that we could compare characteristics in the wine based on where the grapes were grown, given the amount of sun and breeze and altitude. When I couldn’t pick out the smoothness or the minerality in my flight, didn’t understand what I was looking for, she helped me identify those as I sipped. She took us to vineyards that ranged in size, so we could witness the different processes, and meet the owners at the smaller vineyards. At the smallest, a family farm, young owner prepared our lunch, each course chosen to highlight the effect of different foods with different wines. I had heard that pairing food with wine was important, but I was stunned by how noticeably food impacted the taste in the range of young and mature Brunellos and could easily tell which kind of food was best with which wine. On the way home, Giuliana shared insider-info of the best of Siena. The next night, back in our rented apartment, we paired the robust Brunello we purchased on the tour with a creamy burrata from the grocery store—prepared per Giuliana’s recommendation—and were blown away at how our bottle tasted even better than when we had it on the tour.

What can I say...this tour was amazing. Never thought I'd see the sights I saw on this trip, never thought any of this would be possible in my lifetime. Egypt seemed too far, too exotic, too expensive. As soon as I saw the listing for this tour, it suddenly seemed like it might be possible. We had reservations about going for sure. We have kids, 10 and 13. There's a war in Israel. It's summer in a very hot part of the world. Do we need Yellow Fever vaccines? Will the food make us sick? Americans kept telling us it would be too dangerous to go. None of that turned out to be a problem. Egypt was very very safe. There are police and military personnel on the streets and at cultural sites. I saw no crime, no people sleeping on the streets. No people panhandling. Going to ATMs to get cash was very safe and easy. We went everywhere from big tourist sites to small neighborhoods. Food was great and we never got sick. We didn't drink the tap water, but bottled water and soft drinks are everywhere. It was hot, but air conditioning, pools, and headscarves manage this. I'll say this again, because I have heard a lot about this: Egypt is safe. It's kind. It's welcoming. People are excited that you're visiting from America. The food is great, and safe. The hotels were amazing: Steigenberger in Giza is clean, beautiful, has a nice restaurant with free breakfast, and has a view of the pyramids, which is pretty wild. Movenpick in Aswan is spectacular, taking up a large portion of an island in the middle of the Nile, with pools and sustainable farms on-site. The Jaz cruise up the Nile was really nice, with good food and comfortable quarters. The Continental hotel in Hurghada was seriously ridiculously lavish, with a private beach on the Red Sea, giant pool, a dozen restaurants, and a shopping corridor. And the Ramses Hilton in Cairo is clean, elegant, and right in the middle of the action of downtown Cairo. We saw a million places from ancient Egypt I never thought we'd see. I can't overstate how incredible it is to stand in front of the Sphinx, the pyramids of Giza, Luxor temple, Kom Ombo, and especially the incredible monuments at Abu Simbel...this is an optional extra tour, and a bit expensive, as it's a whole day trip, but my goodness, it's worth the long drive. Incredible. Overall, this trip had probably the most OMG moments I've had on a trip. And I've been to some pretty spectacular places, including India, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Peru (Machu Picchu), the UK, and more. Please trust me and take the trip. Ignore the warnings. It's so worth it.

This was our first trip to Egypt and we are so delighted that we chose this tour company! In six days we visited many sites (Cairo, Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Aswan, and Abu Simbel). The tour company staff were always extremely professional from the initial booking process to saying goodbye on the last day of the trip. Our representatives, Sarah and Mohammed, were just wonderful, our tour guides Mena (Cairo), Salah (Luxor and Aswan) and Ashraf (Abu Simbel) were extremely knowledgeable and visibly passionate about their work, and our driver, Mustafa in Luxor and Aswan was friendly and very accomodating. When we come back to Egypt we will not hesitate to book with this company again!

Perfect tour on a lovely boat for us with our 13 year old son. Just the right length and level of info! We really enjoyed this trip. We have a 13 year old so didn’t want to spend all day being overwhelmed with information and this 2.5 hour tour was perfect. An hour or so each way up and down the Bosphorus gave us chance to see some lovely views of the city and waterside buildings with just the right amount of commentary about them. Boat was lovely - there were around 25 people on our tour - and the snacks and drinks were nice plus we could buy a beer or wine if we fancied it. The staff/host were excellent and couldn’t have done more to make us all relax and enjoy the tour. We would really recommend this trip.

They have been taking care of us in everything from the first moment especially Safari Adventure and the snorkeling trip to Ras Mohammed and the White Island. We enjoyed it a lot. We have been to Cairo and Luxor with them as well. We saw pyramids, valley of the kings and lots of other stuff. From beginning to end, our 5-day journey was an incredible experience. The high point? The hot air balloon ride, camel ride, and quad riding were definitely highlights. I did this tour and really enjoyed it. The itinerary was packed but fun. Beaches, islands, waterfalls, a bit of culture, and some beautiful nature spots. Saona Island and Los Haitises were my favorite parts. The guides were friendly, the transport was comfortable, and everything was well organized, so I didn’t have to worry about planning anything. It’s a great option if you want to see a lot of the Dominican Republic in a short time. Overall, super solid tour and definitely worth it!

I just returned from my recent trip to the Dominican Republic (November 2025). It was a last minute trip and I went Solo. As a woman, who traveled alone, it was vital to find an organized way to enjoy the Dominican Republic for safety and best use of my time. I found Charlie the Traveler, who's organization had a 6 day itinerary available for me. The price was very worth it. They arranged all the airport pick up and drop off, hotel arrangements and all the day trips. The excursions were very diverse and gave me the opportunity to see many of the important landmarks in just 6 days. I wish I had stayed longer but I had to go back to work. I got to see the beaches, mountains, caves and historical locations. We went to Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Saona, and many other places. I highly recommend using them whether it's a solo or group trip. We communicated via Whatsapp everyday and they always checked in on me and were available if any issues arose. I would definitely use their services again with my friends or family or solo again!
