We spent 2 weeks (April 2023) of dreams with the route offered by this travel specialist in southern Ethiopia.
Accompanied by an excellent driver with a very comfortable 4x4 car and a guide fluent in English and French and rich in very broad knowledge of his country, its history, the many different tribes, the fauna, religions, different climates, climate, a real walking bible! We shared 10 days with these two very nice people and the many exchanges were friendly. A delight.
We particularly liked the visits to the different tribes (Dorze, Mursi, Karo, Arbore, Hamer, Sidama and others) where we could share the preparation and their meal, the coffee ceremonies and even their dances.
The different lodges for the night were all of very good quality and we really regret that actually only few tourists choose to travel through this beautiful country and its many ethnic groups so different and happy to share their daily life.
Betty and Yaye prepared our journeys over 10 days and we had only very good surprises, everything far exceeded our initial expectations.
Thanks again to Hailu and Fisch for allowing us to find ourselves in a different world, poor but very humble and welcoming.

"Planning this Kilimanjaro trip was hardest task of my life, from the choice of operator, to the preparation of all group equipments. As a student, the hesitation and uncertainty of traveling to Africa took me sometime. It was great that my friend recommended this tour company to our group, and from the first email, everything went smooth with a lot of advise on how to prepare from the company’s experts. We felt safe from the time we landed at the airport, the smiling faces from the team and comfortable talk from the guide, Faza, was the inspiration beyond our summit success. The meals, the equipment the team was best, there was a time other climbers looked at the fun and joyful time we had in our group. I will never forget having a pizza on the mountain. Our chef Dan was amaizing. We ware very pleased to see the mixture of men and women on the team, everyone was doing the best to make us comfortable. Migration tracking in Serengeti safari will be main focuses on tracking the migration .A little after this, in late November and December, the herds of the wildebeest migration arrive on the short-grass plains of the Serengeti. These are south and east of Seronera, around Ndutu and include the north of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dispersed across these plains, wildebeest and zebra are everywhere – feeding on the fresh, nutritious grasses. They stay here through January, February and March, with most wildebeest calves born in a short window around February. Gradually they spread west across these plains, then around April they start their great migration north.
May the Serengeti’s wildebeest all seem to be moving north, migrating to seek fresh grazing and water. The area around Moru Kopjes and west of Seronera is then hectic with a series of moving columns, often containing hundreds of thousands of animals – joined by many zebra, and a scattering of Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles.
Some of the migration then head due north of Seronera, but most are usually further west. Around June the wildebeest migration is often halted on the south side of the Grumeti River, which has some channels which block or slow their migration north. The wildebeest then congregate there, in the Western Corridor, often building up to a high density before crossing the river. The river here is normally a series of pools and channels, but it’s not continuous – and so whilst they always represent an annual feast for the Grumeti River’s large crocodiles, these aren’t usually quite as spectacular as the crossings of the Mara River, further north.
The wildebeest migration continues moving northwards during July and August, often spreading out across a broad front: some heading through Grumeti Reserve and Ikorongo, others north through the heart of the Serengeti National Park.

Here, optional evening activities provide a magical introduction to the city, choosing between the atmospheric Petra by Candlelight experience or a hands-on Jordanian cooking class at the Petra Kitchen (pre-booking recommended). The next day is dedicated entirely to the awe-inspiring Nabataean city of Petra. Following a guided tour through the narrow Siq canyon, revealing the breathtaking Treasury facade carved into the rock, you'll have ample free time to explore this vast site independently. Discover countless tombs, the Roman amphitheatre, and consider challenging climbs to the Monastery or the High Place of Sacrifice for incredible views and a deeper appreciation of this world wonder.
Leaving Petra's rock-hewn marvels, you'll drive into the spectacular desert landscape of Wadi Rum. Experience the magic of the desert with an overnight stay in a comfortable Bedouin camp nestled amongst towering sandstone cliffs. An included jeep safari reveals the dramatic 'jebels' and unique rock formations famed by T.E. Lawrence. The day also includes a visit to the unique Baatara Gorge sinkhole and waterfall (seasonal), exploration of Douma Village with an included traditional lunch, before reaching the serene Qadisha Valley for an overnight stay in a monastery or local guesthouse.
Explore the UNESCO-listed Qadisha Valley (Holy Valley) the next morning, perhaps joining the monks for prayers, before visiting Becharre, birthplace of Kahlil Gibran, and the iconic Cedars of God reserve. The day concludes in the ancient Phoenician port city of Byblos, another UNESCO site, brimming with millennia of history. Enjoy a free morning exploring Byblos' charming markets and harbour before travelling inland. A highlight is the visit to Ksara Winery, Lebanon's oldest, for a tour of its historic caves and a wine tasting session, before continuing to Zahle.
The penultimate day offers a spectacular immersion in history with a visit to the colossal Roman temple complex at Baalbek (Heliopolis), one of the most impressive Roman sites globally. Afterwards, explore the well-preserved 8th-century Umayyad city of Anjar in the Bekaa Valley, showcasing remarkable early Islamic urban planning, before driving back to Beirut for the final night. Your comprehensive tour concludes on day eleven with free time for last-minute exploration or souvenir shopping in Beirut before your included transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Throughout the tour, breakfasts are included daily, along with specific lunches and dinners as detailed in the itinerary.
