Jordan has been on my bucket list for a long time and this trip ticked all my boxes! It was eye-opening as we visited all the UNESCO sites of Jordan and visiting the castles, church ruins and learning about the influence from the Bronze Age, Roman, Byzantine and Umayya. The preserved Mosaics were a highlight too! Despite what is going on in neighbouring countries, we felt very safe. Sadly, due to the ongoing conflict is having an impact on tourism and locals, so the Jordanians needs us more than ever! This did mean we had most of the sites to ourselves such as the baptism site & the Treasury! We stayed at Mujib Chalet which meant we were away from the big hotels and was able to enjoy the Dead Sea for ourselves, and it was only a few mins walk from our chalet. The sunset here was magical! The food were delicious, everyone was catered for (veggies and meat), the humous was the best we ever tried! We also visited during the harvest of olives (happens from late Oct- early Dec) so be prepared to get fresh olives wherever you go :)

Another wonderful trip with World Expeditions. In addition to the expected highlights of Petra, Wadi Rum, snorkelling in the Red Sea and floating in the Dead Sea, the unexpected delights of visiting a local family at Um Qais (and cooking/dining with them), the expansive Roman ruins at Jerash and our extraordinary driver Firas made this trip wonderful. The small additional cost of having a representative meet us at the airport and guide us through immigration was well worth it. The process was very quick and smooth. I had the best time in Jordan. I would thoroughly recommend anyone and everyone to go visit such a wonderful country. The people were so kind and hospitable and I never once felt unsafe. Regardless of what is going on in neighbouring countries, Jordan felt incredibly safe. All the different trips, visits and activities were fantastic and I always felt looked after by our amazing local guide. The optional extras were all worth it and I would recommend them, especially the diving trip. Although the location might not be the most idyllic above the water, below is absolutely incredible. It was a tad difficult swimming back to the boat against the tide, so if you are a weaker swimmer - do be aware how far you swim away from the boat. Overall, I would say, book this trip now. I had the best time and wish I was out there for longer!

This was a great itinerary, although an extra day in Petra would be helpful especially when you are battling heat. To have time to actually use the pool at the 'village' hotel would be incredible. We came in around 10-11pm and were out by 7 am the next morning. Also, you really need to deal with the 'extra' activities. We came in early to do the Desert Castles add-on and were told we had to wait to talk to our tour director - who we didn't see until 6 pm that evening when it was too late. (when we asked about it before going we were told to talk to our tour director when we got there)
