I wasn't sure when I signed up for this particular tour if it was the right one for me so my expectations were reasonably low. What I actually experienced was one of the best tours I have participate in. The whole experience was brilliant. However, the Okavango Delta absolutely blew me away and had such a profound effect on my outlook on life and sitting around fire under the starlit sky will live in my memory forever.
The whole journey through Botswana was truly life changing - at times so basic, but equally, so beautiful. Africa has stolen a piece of my heart and I can not wait to return to explore more with G Adventures.
Excellent experience. A trip the family will not forget. My daughter especially made a connection with Johannes in the delta preparing the meal for the group. It is these types of interactions with people from different parts of the world that I really wanted to share with my kids. This trip achieved that and so much more. Overall this was an excellent tour. The Cape Town section was great with a wide variety of sites to visit. The lunch at Penguino in Hermanus was delicious and hilarious. The Cullinan Hotel was very good and we appreciated the visit to the District Six museum - an eye opener. However, the transition to Hoedspruit was poor - we were not given our flight times, the flight was delayed for 5 hours, there was no direct communication with Trafalgar. That was redeemed at the Karongwe game reserve - great game viewing (Big 5 + cheetahs in 2 days) with skilled rangers and simple, comfortable accommodation. The food was good except, surprisingly, the meat was tough. The staff there were very courteous and friendly. The brief visit to Johannesburg was very good: the guided tours to the Old Fort Prison and new Constitutional Court and to Regina Mundi church and other sites in Soweto were really great. As former South Africans, we thought this tour gave all of us an excellent, short overview of the Cape, the Bush and Johannesburg. And we appreciated the personalized attention to detail from Trafalgar s guides.

Although we've traveled independently as well as with a number of other tour companies over the years, this was our first trip with G Adventures/National Geographic Journeys. We loved everything about this tour - the itinerary, group size, accommodations, and of course our excellent tour CEO. This was an amazing trip and we hope to travel with G Adventures again!
Excellent. Trip of a life time. Very interesting loved to seeing the animals in their natural habitat but the cultural aspect that were the included aspects but also the additional paid excursions. Many of the expert added guides were very very good adding lots to the trip. I especially liked the guide/researcher to the Namibia in the desert who took us for a tour in the desert describing how the flora and fauna survived without rain etc.so very interesting. I also enjoyed the tour in the Botanical Garden in Cape Town, very interesting but too short. The only caution is that if you take this tour, you need to be aware of the long rides, usually necessary due to the isolation of some sites, and lots of early mornings. Always need to be prepared for lots of tipping on a daily basis. Overall, would highly recommend
