An excellent and highly enjoyable trip with a good amount of variety. The tour leader (Su) was superb and certainly one of the best I have encountered - no request seemed beyond him! The trip covers a lot of ground and expect some long bumpy rides on the roads which are not currently in a good state. However it is worth it for the temples, the walks, the scenery, the wildlife, and the lovely people of Nepal. Highlights include Chitwan which as well as wildlife gives you an insight into rural Nepalese life and Nagarkot which gives you beautiful sunrise views of the mountains and lovely scenery. I also loved the cable car ride to Manakamana Temple (optional trip) and the colourful stalls there and Patan (another optional trip) which has temples and gave us the opportunity to see both Buddhist and Hindu ceremonies taking place. Accommodation was generally good. Highlights were the Hotel Shanker in Kathmandu and Tigerland in Chitwan. The Riverside at Kurintar was lovely too. The food was good and you get to try a good range of cuisine. The walks were, in my view, not too strenuous and were along country tracks with a lot of uneven steps in some cases. If you are a bit unstable on your feet, take a walking pole. Definitely a trip I would recommend.

This biking safari adventure takes you, at first, for a thrilling ride around the Kathmandu valley. As you ride up and down the hills and adventurous trails on your mountain bike, the beautiful Himalayas dominate the skyline. And then, the trip takes you to Chitwan National Park. Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide book publisher, says it is “one of the best wildlife-viewing national parks in Asia”. You begin your biking adventure by paddling from Kathmandu. Enjoy riding in the bustling city and then start a challenging ride to Kakani, a quiet town atop a ridge. The hill station offers mesmerizing views of the Himalayan ranges from Annapurna to Everest (weather permitting). Ahead is a 9-km single track, known as “Scar Road”, which runs through Shivapuri National Park. In the trip, you will get lots of opportunities to ride in challenging trails. On Day 3 while biking from Shivapuri village to Chisapani, you will ride on a single biking trail known as “30 Minutes of Heaven”. From Chisapani, cycle to Nagarkot, which is another popular hill station offering the breathtaking sights of the snow-white peaks. The major attraction of staying overnight at Nagarkot is the sunrise in the morning. Wake up before dawn and go out on the balcony. You will be amazed at the scenery. The sun rays light up the Himalayan mountains and turn them from white to red and gold. From Nagarkot, ride for 5 km along a ridge at first. This comprehensive tour of Nepal takes you on a journey across one of the most spectacularly beautiful countries in the world. Our 15-day tour begins with a walking tour of Kathmandu before we drive to Chitwan National Park in the lowland Terai region of Nepal, close to the Indian border. There's an option available today to do an afternoon of exciting white water rafting on the Trisuli river, en-route to the park. We have two nights at a wildlife lodge at Chitwan, and enjoy a range of activities in the park, including a jungle walk, traditional river canoe trip and jeep safari. Outside the park we'll take a rural village walk to see how the local Tharu people live, and an early morning bird watching walk is also available for those keen. Chitwan is famous for its population of Asian rhinos, and there are also numerous other animals and birds to see including several species of deer and monkeys, wild boar, sloth bear, elephants, gharial and mugger crocodiles, and if you're very lucky you may catch a glimpse of a tiger too. Next we head to the hilltop Newari town of Bandipur, the centre of which has been carefully restored and is well worth exploring. After some great mountain views from here we head to the lakeside town of Pokhara at the foot of the Annapurna range before starting a 5-day trek through the Himalayan foothills to the spectacular viewpoint of Poon Hill. We stay in locally owned trekking lodges and experienced guides and porters will accompany you on the trek. This is a moderate trek with a couple of long days and plenty of up and down, but you certainly don't need to be super-fit. You'll walk through a wide variety of landscapes and countryside including riverside trails, rhododendron forests, terraced farmland and grassy ridges, always enjoying different views of the mighty Annapurna range above you. After a little free time to relax in Pokhara after the trek we return to Kathmandu and spend a night at the village of Nagarkot, perched on the rim of the Kathmandu Valley. After a morning sunrise and hopefully stunning views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest in the far distance, we return to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur, where we take time to enjoy the wonderful, intricately carved, wooden architecture of the traditional Hindu temples and surrounding buildings.
