Journey across India’s most iconic landscapes and historic cities on the Enchanting Trip to India, a 16-day tour crafted for young adults and experienced explorers. Begin in Delhi’s lively streets and ancient markets before heading to Agra, where the Taj Mahal and Mughal wonders await. Embark on a thrilling safari in Ranthambore National Park, home to Bengal tigers and other wildlife. Jaipur’s royal forts and the colorful Holi festival (in March) offer vibrant cultural immersion. The adventure continues to Jaisalmer’s desert fortresses and Jodhpur’s blue-hued streets, culminating in Udaipur’s lakeside palaces. day 1 - Welcome to Delhi
Namaste and welcome to incredible India! After you land in New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be welcomed by our English speaking representative and driven to your hotel.
day 2 - Delhi Sightseeing
Today you will get to know the capital of India with your tour guide. Its history has a strong influence on culture as well as architecture. Drive through Old Delhi and to the Jama Masjid Mosque. There you will change to another vehicle and an exciting rickshaw ride awaits you in the busy streets of the Chandni Chowk district. We continue to the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, and the tomb of the Mughal ruler Humayun. In New Delhi, explore the India Gate Triumphal Arch, the Presidential Residence, the Parliament Building, and the Sikh temple Gurudwara (Bangla Sahib Gurudwara).
day 3 - Transfer to Agra and Sightseeing
In the morning, you will drive to Agra. Upon arrival, check in to the pre-booked hotel. Home to the Taj Mahal, the story of Agra begins much earlier than the Taj; it finds mention in the Hindu epic Mahabharata, where the city was called the Agrabana or paradise. It was the Mughal rulers who nurtured Agra with the finest monuments that the architects could design. The Taj Mahal of Shah Jahan and Agra Fort of Akbar are but few of the many that spangle the city that showcase Agra's grandeur.
In the afternoon, you will visit the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula. Later in the day, drive to the other side of the Yamuna River to Mehtab Bagh Garden. From here you will get to see the Taj Mahal from a completely different perspective.
day 4 - Agra Sightseeing
Early in the morning, you will visit the Taj Mahal, considered a symbol for all of India. This iconic mausoleum was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz in around 1643. Following the tour of Taj Mahal, you will visit the Agra Fort, an impressive palace complex from the Mughal period. Later in the day, you will get to explore the Marble Bazaar and stroll around in local markets.
day 5 - Transfer to Ranthambore National Park
Your destination today is Ranthambore National Park. India is not only known for its beautiful castles and ornate palaces, but also for its wildlife. A former hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, Ranthambore is a major wildlife tourist attraction in Northern India. The park is famous for its Bengal tiger population. In the evening you will have an introductory session with a naturalist about the Ranthambore tigers.
day 6 - Jeep Safari in Ranthambore National Park
Set off early in the morning for a new experience! You can also visit the former hunting grounds of the Maharaja of Jaipur to capture the wildlife with your camera. In addition to the tiger, the area is home to desert cats, striped hyenas, jackals, bears, antelopes and numerous species of birds. See India's unique wildlife during a jungle safari in open trucks (canters). Return to your hotel for rest, for you will be joining in a second safari excursion later in the afternoon.
day 7 - Transfer to Jaipur
Today you will continue your journey to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The area was also the stronghold of a clan of rulers, the Kachhwaha, who left behind three large hill forts and a number of fantastic palaces. The city was founded around 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh II according to a very strict plan and was given the typical pink paint when Prince Albert visited around 1876.
day 8 - Jaipur Sightseeing
After breakfast, set off to visit Amber Fort, one of the most beautiful palaces in Rajasthan. The name comes from the goddess of fertility Amba Mata, the revered Mother Earth. Afterwards, you will visit Jantar Mantar, the largest stone observatory on earth, and the magnificent City Palace, which is still inhabited by the descendants of the former royals.
You will make a photo stop at the famous Hawa Mahal (The Palace of the Winds). The palace facade features countless windows and bay windows. The day ends with a toru of local bazaars— an experience not to be missed in Jaipur.
day 9 - Jaipur Sightseeing or Holi Celebrations
The Hindu population of India celebrates the Holi festival on the full moon day of the month of Phalguna (February/March). If you are visiting around this time, you will get to experience this festival of colors with the locals of Jaipur and your travel companions. It you missed the festival, don't worry because there is always something to see and do in Jaipur.
day 10 - Transfer to Nagaur and Sightseeing
Your destination today is Nagaur, a small village in the middle of the Thar Desert. If you are traveling during the month of February, don't forget to check out the annual camel market. If not, you can simply enjoy your stay in an old fort that has been converted into a beautiful hotel, experience life in the desert, or visit village settlements.
day 11 - Transfer to Jaisalmer
Today you will continue through the Thar Desert to Jaisalmer. The city was named after Maharaja Jaisal Singh, a Rajput king (Bhatii Rajput), who founded it in 1156. "Jaisalmer" means "the mountain castle of Jaisal". Jaisalmer is sometimes called the "Golden City of India" because of the golden color of the sandstone buildings.
day 12 - Jaisalmer Sightseeing
After a hearty breakfast, visit the Jaisalmer Fortress, which became wealthy and important as a resting place for trade caravans that passed through the city in the olden days. You will tour the havelis (traditional houses) of former merchants, decorated with stonemason work. The Jain Temple is also an interesting site to visit. The day ends with an adventurous camel ride during sunset.
day 13 - Transfer to Jodhpur and Sightseeing
Today you drive south to the imperial city of Jodhpur, also known as 'The Blue City'. Here you will visit Mehrangarh Fort, from where you can observe the indigo-colored sea of houses. Also worth seeing are the Jaswant Thada mausoleum and the white marble Chattri of Jaswant Singh II. A stroll through the colorful vegetable market will allow you to meet and interact with locals.
day 14 - Transfer to Udaipur
In the morning, you will drive to Udaipur and on the way you will stop at Ranakpur, home to the greatest Jain temples in India: Chaturmukha Dharana Vihara. This white temple, supported by its beautifully decorated columns, is a sight to behold. After the tour of the temple, resume your journey to reach the city of Udaipur.
day 15 - Udaipur Sightseeing
Today you will discover Udaipur, or the "Venice of the East". Here you will see the City Palace (Raj Mahal). Built in 1725, this palace complex impresses visitors with its intricate decorations, featuring glittering mirrors and countless ornaments. Afterwards you will explore the Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu. It was built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1651. Next you will visit the Sahelion Ki-Bari (The Garden of Women), and at sunset take a boat trip on the beautiful Lake Pichola. If you are interested, we can also organize an optional activity of bike ride through the rural area of Udaipur.
day 16 - Fly to Delhi and Departure
In the morning, you will fly back to Delhi so that you can travel back home. Our services end after you have been dropped off in Delhi.
