The trek was excellent although tough in the short timescale but I wanted the challenge. For others make sure youre happy with the non acclimatisation days, I had the full information and I chose to take the shorter trek. Off season in January although cold was a great time to trek as far less people on the trail as I hear spring time is just to hectic. Even in the winter you get warm during the daytime treking.

At 8163 meters, Manaslu is the 8th highest peak in the world and is located near the border between Nepal and Tibet. The name Manaslu means "the Spirit-Mountain" in the local dialect, referring to the benevolent and strong deity which dwells within. The Tibetan enclave of Nupri, north of Manaslu at the head of the Buri Gandaki, was closed to foreigners for years on account of its proximity to Tibet. The area was surreptitiously opened in 1991, but it took several years for the word to get out, keeping the area free from hordes of tourists.

The golden triangle was everything I expected and more. We had excellent tour guides who are very knowledgeable about the sites that we visited, their history, and local customs. Each hotel we stayed at was comfortable and the service was outstanding. The added a trip to Amritsar was also very memorable as the Golden temple is very spectacular. I also visited Dharmsala whose natural beauty and small winding streets were a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the large cities. I highly recommend Le passage of India as a tour guide. Deepak went over and above to ensure that we were comfortable throughout the trip. If you’re an enthusiast about world history a visit to India should be at the top of your list. The Taj Mahal is indescribable, however the Jaipur, Delhi, Amritsar, and Dharmsala also offer memories that your cherish for lifetime.

Upper Mustang Trek - April 2026

I and my partner did Upper Mustang Trek with Himalayanleisure in June 2018. It was a great experience. The flights couldn't happen due to bad weather so we took a private jeep which was an adventure. The trek was arranged nicely and the staffs were very caring. Our guide and porter made the trek possible. It is a beautiful trek I can recommend to other people in rainy season in Nepal. In general, when we reach high, there was no rain.

Chulu West Peak Climb - April 2026

I used this local operator for a solo climb expedition of Chulu West in the Annapurna Region (6419m Peak)
Khum and Krishna at the office did a great job in setting everything up and communication during the expedition was easy, fast and efficient.
The logistics were taken care of without any major hiccups.
This expedition is quite an undertaking with setting up both a base camp on around 5000m and a High Camp around 5600m, but everything went smoothly.
The absolut highlight were the guides:
- the general guide Bishnu who knows the Annapurna Area inside out
- the climbing guide LakCha who is extremely competent and knowledgeable about all aspects of high altitude climbing
I cant praise the guides enough and would urge you to request them specifically for any high altitude climbs !
We had a great successful summit day with amazing weather and reached the summit in record time just for sunrise !
I give this operator and Bishnu and LakCha my highest recommendation !

The trek was just excellent, and we had some amazing views of the peaks! If you want to avoid the crowds of the EBC, this is a good alternative.

I went on the Manaslu trek in March 2020 arranged by the local tour sepcialists and had an amazing time! The mountain and nature scenery was breathtaking and a really memorable hike for me! Nepal is such an amazing country with such lovely people. I felt safe every moment of the trek and the company really takes care about everything. Starting with a pick up from the airport and welcome dinner, they will help you with every concern. It was absolutely no problem to travel alone as a woman. Nikesh was the best guide I could wish for, we had a really good time. He always wanted me to be happy and took care about me. I recently did a trek to Mera Peak with this local operator. I highly recommend them as a trekking company. The company is very efficient and communication with them was very good and prompt prior to and after the trip. The booking process was very straightforward and easy. The company provided us with Down Jacket, sleeping bag and walking poles for the trek which were all of excellent quality.
The team of guide and porters were fantastic, they were always willing to assist and support throughout the trip and always went above and beyond.
