This 12-day trek will take you to Rara Lake, the biggest lake in Nepal. This is one of the most undisturbed trekking routes in Nepal and this trek ensures that you will have a quiet and enchanting experience.
Rara lake lies on the remote Karnali zone in the north western Nepal. The region is made up of long ridges covered with temperate forests and alpine pastures enclosing high valleys. Summer rainfall is low but winter snow can be heavy and persistent. Since the region is fairly high and free from monsoon thunderstorms, the summer season is ideal for trekking. Winters are cold, but in the autumn season, trekking is rewarded with a profusion of alpine flowers.

The trek begins from Pokhara with a short drive to Nayapul village. The route ascends a river valley that gradually narrows before opening up into an amphitheater of mountains. Trek though beautiful Gurung and Gorkha villages, rice paddy fields in the lower section, and rhododendron forests with stunning views of the Himalayas. Reach 4200-meter altitude at Annapurna Base Camp. The spot is surrounded by 360 degree views of Himalayas. Be part of this 12-day, guided trek and get the chance to visit the Gokyo Lakes, glistening bodies water high up in the Himalayas that are fed by the surrounding glaciers. Your journey starts in Kathmandu with a short flight to the airstrip in Lukla.
Hit the trail for Namche Bazaar and continue your journey to the Gokyo Valley via Dole and Machhermo to reach the Gokyo Lakes. Explore the glistening bodies of water and enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas from Gokyo Ri before heading back to Lungden via the Renjo La Pass. Then continue your downhill journey via Thame and Namche to reach Lukla, from where you will catch your flight home.
The Gokyo Valley is home to six glacial lakes that hold special significance to both Hindus and Buddhists. It is also known for Gokyo Ri (5,357m), which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Although not as well known as Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, the views of Mount Everest from Gokyo Ri are said to surpass those from Kala Patthar. Other peaks that you can see from Gokyo Ri include Mount Cho Oyo (8,153m), Mount Makalu (8,475m) and Mount Lhotse (8,511m).
The other highlight of this trip is the Ngozumba Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal that is also the source of the lakes in the Gokyo Valley. The best months for this trek are from September to December and February to May.
Langtang Circuit trek, also known as Langtang Helambu trek, is one of Nepal’s most fascinating treks. The route is a moderate hiking challenge through the pleasant and unspoiled trails of Langtang National Park. This trek is known for its stunning Himalayan views and its cultural highlights.
The trek begins at Syabrubashi and reveals a unique treasure trove of the valley— natural and cultural. Up and down on the rolling hills, the trek cross passes the sacred Holy Lake of Gosainkunda to the culturally authentic Tamang Villages of Helambu Valley. The Langtang and Helambu Valleys are in close proximity to Tibet, and trekkers will be able to observe authentic Tibetan culture throughout the trek.

Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is one of the major treks of the Langtang region, along with Helambu Trek and Langtang Circuit Trek. This trek offers you both a wealth of natural and cultural experiences. In addition to the panoramic views of several snow-topped mountains and spectacular alpine scenery, this trek’s major highlight is the holy lake of Gosainkunda.
The 9-day trek commences from Kathmandu, leading towards Syabrubesi from where the actual hiking starts. The trek then follows the Langtang valley heading up to the Langtang glacier and the Tibetan border to Langtang village. This narrow village settled between the Himalayan ranges to the north and south, provides a spectacular view of snow-capped peaks including Langtang Lurung, and Lanshisha Ri. Continuing from Langtang village, the trek continues to Kyangijn Gompa, Lama Hotel, Chandan Bari ultimately leading to the final destination of the trek, Gosainkunda Lake.
Gosainkunda Lake has a unique combination of natural beauty and cultural richness. It is a sacred lake for adherents of Hinduism and Buddhism. During the Janai Purnima (full moon festival) in August, thousands of pilgrims from Nepal, India and other Asian countries visit this holy lake to take a bath in the holy water, believing it will wash off all their sins. Gosainkunda Lake is believed to have formed from the digging of the land by trident of Lord Shiva to obtain water to quench the thirst after consuming poison.
Your walk ascends through the beautiful Himalayan ranges to Gosainkunda with a number of adjoining mountains, astonishing rhododendron forests and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Enjoy the natural world in a different way. This journey also has stunning views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Annapurna massif.
