This was the best introduction to Costa Rica and everything it has to offer travellers. A perfect blend of active and comfort, we had the option to be as adventurous (or not) as we wanted. It's the first time I've done a National Geographic tour and the accommodation was at the next level compared to classic tours.

The Journey to Macchu Picchu with National Geographic and G Adventures was so much more than I bargained for. Not only did we see and explore Macchu Picchu, but in the days leading up to the "Big Mountain' we learned so much about the Incan culture and practices from the visits to other lesser-known archeological and cultural sites, that by the time we arrived at the UNESCO World Heritage, Macchu Picchu, I felt that I actually understood this extraordinary site and its significance to the Incan people.

It was a fun tour put together. The name of this tour pretty much is what says, in which you see many different waterfalls and forest areas around the Ricon de la Vieja National Park, Monteverde, and Arenal volcano near La Fortuna. Many activities were arranged to which you see these waterfalls and forest environments such as horseback riding, nightwalk to see various animals insects and reptiles at night, hikes, and rappelling. When these activities were done usually by noon, you have the rest of the day to yourself to explore around other sites or to just relax at your hotel. I enjoyed the week I had in Costa Rica doing this tour, and I would recommend anyone who wants a bit of adventure and relaxation to go on this tour.
