Im coming to the end of my Sri Lanka tour and I couldnt recommend it highly enough. The tour is well organised and we got to see so many beautiful places along the journey. Our group leader, Penn, has been absolutely wonderful and so helpful in every aspect. She is highly knowledgeable about Sri Lanka and clearly cares a lot about her job. Our 20-day tailor-made trip to Sri Lanka was truly unforgettable, largely thanks to our wonderful guide Lahiru. We had the pleasure of visiting some of the country's most famous national parks, including Wilpattu and Yala, and Lahiru's extensive knowledge of the wildlife, regions, and local cultures made the experience all the more enriching. He went above and beyond to ensure that our trip was a success, and we couldn't have asked for a more helpful and accommodating guide.
Throughout the planning process, Lahiru was extremely communicative and clear in his explanations of everything from airport pickup to lodging to costs. The lunches provided were delicious, with a warm lunch on the first day and quintessential 'boxed' lunches on subsequent days. The dinners were all buffet-style, but with plenty of options, including vegetarian.
Overall, we feel that our trip was worth every penny and would jump at the chance to do it all over again. Thank you, Lahiru, for an incredible Safari adventure!

This is a very good trip but fell down on two points: 1) Just half a day in Colombo is woefully inadequate. 2) The current Explore practice on many recent trips of large lunches (In the case of Sri Lanka buffet group lunches in tourist restaurants) followed by large evening meals, also invariably as a group, is crazy. Most group members complained about this. A light lunch sampling local "street type" food, soup or light sandwiches followed by a decent evening meal would be infinitely more sensible. We all agreed that given we were not walking very far on most days no one needs two huge meals a day!

Sri Lanka Time Tour via Aitken Spence. We met our driver and guided Sanka in Negombo for a 10 day tour of Sri Lanka. As soon as we met Sanka we knew we had made a very good decision, he was very friendly and welcoming us to continue our tour with the first events, he was prompt and very knowledgeable, and very proud of his country. Driving in Sri Lanka is crazy but Sanka was very experienced and we never felt unsafe. Safety throughout Sri Lanka is a high priority, but we never feel unsafe anywhere and encourage visitors to carry on while the tourism industry suffers. The hotels we stayed in were excellent and the staff were always friendly and very helpful. The tour is very busy with some long days, but we end with a six day break in the Maldives to recover. A truly memorable holiday with lots of laughs and banter with Sanka who made the tour so enjoyable.

We recently concluded a two-week trip travelling throughout Sri Lanka using World Expeditions. The entire team was highly responsible and provided professional input up to the moment we departed for the trip. Upon arrival we were greeted by our guide and driver who provided dedication, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to excellence all throughout the trip, consistently going above and beyond his responsibilities as a travel guide ensuring we would experience the "real” Sri Lanka. He consistently anticipated our needs to ensure that our questions or concerns were addressed and resolved. Being very intuitive, in addition to the hikes, temples and ancient cities visited in our itinerary, he also further customized our trip to include additional activities he knew we would both enjoy as wildlife and photo enthusiasts. Overall, this was an incredible experience and very satisfied that we used World Expeditions to organize this trip.

Both parts of this trip wee amazing but the tour leader, Nala, for the Sri Lankan part was amazing. We were seeing and doing so much of Sri Lanka but his efficiency and effectiveness at keeping us all informed and inspired throughout was seamless. He was knowledgeable, fun, and thoughtful with all of our group. He was careful to make sure everyone was happy and felt part of the group, and was aware of everyone's particular interests.
Nala made sure that we all knew what to expect in the day's itinerary but also added in extra activities if there was time, or the opportunity arose for example, a large banana market where the cooperative owners were happy to hear our questions and have phottaken.
We would thoroughly recommend Nala as a tour guide- everything he did was designed to keep us all happy and he was exceptional in this.
