Join us on our 3 classic horseback ride tour through Santiago’s rugged Cordillera. You will be welcomed at the ranch by the Arrieros (local cowboys) and their dogs before we take off. Take in the stunning vistas and admire the abundant flora & fauna from horseback. We will cross rivers, scale mountains, have a short break along the river side or on a hill top, enjoy a small snack in the gorgeous surroundings and then savour a picnic lunch once back at the ranch. You will also have the chance to share an Argentinean herbal tea called “mate”.
We use the small but sturdy criollo horses who make anybody feel at ease. No previous experience is required. To make your trip more pleasant, we will lend you chaps and a helmet. Please wear long trousers, long sleeves in the summer for sun protection and closed shoes.
You will be picked up at 10.00 and returned by 16.00 max to your hotel (35 min drive from Providencia).
Booking a horseback riding tour with Chile Off Track generates a positive social impact as we contract the horses with local providers, with whom we have an established business relationship for years. Our tours contribute significantly in helping them to make their living!
Lima and Santiago bookended this trip. The small cities and towns we visited were more to my taste. La Paz was special in part because of a very good city tour largely on the cable card.
This journey felt significantly longer than its actual duration—in the best possible way! I thoroughly enjoyed every moment, appreciating both the wonderful group and the breathtaking landscapes of Patagonia. What I valued most was the ability to fully embrace the experience without the need for planning or decision-making. Every detail was so well taken care of that I could completely relax and immerse myself in the beauty of Patagonia without any concerns.
My husband and a friend travelled for around 25 days visiting some of the most beautiful destinations in Argentina and Chile. Our favourite part was Mendoza and Bariloche for its exceptional landscapes and gastronomy. It is a trip that will remain in our memory forever.
