We booked a private 8 day tour of Romania with this travel operator and they did a fabulous job of making sure we had the best time ever!! They lined us up with a tour guide named Laurentiu. He was fantastic!!! He was extremely knowledgable of all the places we visited throughout Romania. It was all natural for him and it was not scripted and he knew the history of each sight. He was very laid back and was never in a rush. He had a great personality and a good sense of humor. He made our entire trip fun and interesting. He took us to all of the main sights on our itinerary, as well as some off the beaten path sights. We got a true understanding and feeling of what life in Romania is all about. The hotels they booked us in were all conveniently located to all of the main attractions and were all unique boutique type hotels. Lauentui knew where all the great restaurants were along the way and we ate like kings and the food was excellent. Romania is a vast and beautiful country. Everything ran smooth and was perfect. We had the best time anyone could ever ask for. We would highly recommend this company for all your travel needs throughout Romania.

A really good, interesting holiday. Rather more moderate than leisurely but very enjoyable. The group had a good age range and we all got along very well. The weather was glorious for all but one day and the guest house was lovely. The food was very good and the staff were all very friendly.

Our tour leader Radvan Moldovan was well organised, thorough, considerate and humorous. He provided an interesting and well-informed background to the area and the culture. The guest house and hut staff were also very helpful and the accommodation was good. The first two days of the walk provided a warm up to days 3 and 4 which were challenging, but satisfying, for me. The ridge walk was somewhat strenuous but absolutely spectacular- making all the other efforts more than worthwhile. I can thoroughly recommend this trip for anyone who is physically fairly fit and without knee or ankle problems (there is a lot of steep downhill). I had not used walking poles before but found them very helpful on this trip.

This was a tough but thoroughly enjoyable trip in a very beautiful part of the world. The challenging grade is about right; be prepared for a lot of rocky steep ascent and descent including a fair amount of scrambling and using fixed cables/chains. Some parts (particularly the ascent to La Om on Day 4 and the ridge along the top) are pretty exposed. There is a good mix of tougher and somewhat easier days to break things up with some nice forest and meadow sections. The reward is some amazing scenery in a relatively unspoilt part of the world. The whole trip was very well organised and accommodation at Villa Hermani was very clean and comfortable, with friendly hosts and great food. The mountain huts were a good experience but be prepared for very basic toilet and sanitary facilities.
