Discover the enchanted Galapagos Islands during this 7-day, guided, island-hopping tour! Due to its isolation, the Galapagos forms a natural sanctuary, preserving species that have evolved separately over millennia. In addition to sheltering unique species, these islands are famous for having inspired Charles Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection.
We will meet you at the lobby of your hotel in Quito on the first day of the tour at 6:00 PM for a pre-tour briefing. Head for Isabela Island, the largest island of the Galapagos spread over an area slightly more than 4,500 square kilometres, on Day 2.
See the famous lava tunnels underwater while snorkeling and relax on the white, sandy beaches of Isabela Island on the third day of the trip and enjoy hiking and kayaking trips on Day 4, when you will also get the chance to see the unique wildlife of this island.
Visit the famous Charles Darwin Research Station as well as El Chato - Giant Tortoise Reserve in the highlands of Santa Cruz. The western islands itinerary in the Galapagos aboard the Reina Silvia with Omar Medina as our guide was one of the best trips I've taken, in more than 50 countries over the past 25 years. We saw incredible wildlife - at least 1 or 2 new species each day! - and spectacular landscapes, and we really had time to explore in different ways and take it all in. Omar and the crew of the Reina Silvia took such good care of us in every way and made our adventure safe, fun and memorable. Our group of 16 was fantastic - we've made some true friends, and are already making plans to see each other again. I can't recommend this trip highly enough... just wish there was an option for smaller meal portions (for those of us who are smaller people), since I felt bad wasting such delicious food. The trip was epic, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
