Upper mustang trekking is most mysterious and least famous trekking area of Nepal .This trekking offer amazing view of mountain and mountain desert along with hundreds natural caves. Mustang itself is a forbidden kingdom and restricted area for trekking so far. Mustang trek was officially open for trekkers just a couple of decades before. Mustang trekking is moderate trek exploring verities. It is fairly easy trekking along the permitted route to Lo-Manthang, which are lies in the heart of Mustang. Mustang trek is dry and very little rain during monsoon season, or most less rain then rest of Nepal. Trekking to upper mustang is similar in to trekking in Tibet. when you are there you feel like you are nearly in Tibet.
Mustang trekking is magical wall city kingdom it’s full of culture and religious heritage. Forbidden & isolated from the rest of the World it was able to its own distinctive culture and traditional which is so rich, unique and untouched by modern civilization. This was part of the Tibetan Kingdom of Gungthang until 1830's. Mustang has maintained its status as a separate principality until 1951. The king of Lo- Monthang still retains his title and he has been given the honorary rank of Colonel in the Nepalese Army. But things had changed since we got liberate of monarchy in Kathmandu. This Upper Mustang trekking organized by Nepal Eco Adventure unique way to explore remote part of Nepal. Trekkers are only allowed to stay in the area 13 days in total.
Join us on this 15-day, guided trek and explore some of the most breathtaking locations in the Annapurna region. Your journey starts from Kathmandu from where we will drive to Dharapani on the first day of this tour. Hit the trail from Dharapani to Phu Gaon, where you will spend a day acclimatizing.
Continue to Nar village via Nar Phedi. Cross your first mountain pass, the Kang La (5240m), on Day 8. The trail then descends to Manang, a popular trekking stop for those traveling through the famous Annapurna Circuit. From there, the trail takes you up through the Thorong La Pass and down to Jomsom, via Muktinath.
Catch a flight to Pokhara from Jomsom and drive back to Kathmandu, where your trip comes to an end.
I met Mr. Khum SUBEDI, Managing Director, in the taxi receiving me at my arrival at Kathmandu airport. We met again the next day and he proposed me a special trekking program adapted to my level of physical fitness, adding Muktinah to the Poon Hill usual program. The price was reasonable and he took news from me during the whole trip. Mr. SUBEDI is a nice guy and a real professional.
My guide, Raju KANDEL, was excellent. He was very helpful but not intrusive. He proposed an alternative plan to make the trip more interesting. The places we stayed were very well chosen. He even took good care of me when my legs were painful after going down too long
It was a pleasure to hike with him during the day and to share a beer in the evening. He was quite a friend.
I had a great time on this trek and Raj was an incredible guide with great communication throughout. His hospitality, and flexibility were incredibly welcomed and the trek was fairly challenging for one of the more 'moderate' hikes. Loved the experience and could not be happier!

Guide and Porter were excellent. Lodging exceeded expectations. Although the weather wasn't great, our experience is one that will stick with us for a lifetime. It was a good and very well planned trek. Our guide Kumar Karki is a professionel guide who does all his best for helping and supporting us, his clients. Also compliments to our porter. We had a great trek with fun and many good stories. Thank you both for making our trek succesful.
I had a fantastic time all through the trek. It was extremely awesome view, great food and stay. I felt safe traveling alone through the local operator. All credits go to Upendra for planning the trip. He responds quickly and promptly. Highly treatable and took care of everything. I didn't have to worry or think about anything. Krishna was my guide and porter. Awesome friend, highly recommend him as a guide. I added Chitwan and Kathmandu tour. It was the best trip to chitwan. I did tower night, jungle walk, private safari, elephant ride. Every day was exciting and joyous. Krishna was a good guide with sharp eyes. If you wanna do bird watching and spot wildlife, highly recommend him. I saw so many rare birds. Got a lady guide Sushma for Kathmandu tour. Another extraordinary day. She added a trip to Kalabairav for me. Highly recommend her. She is calm, understanding, knowledgeable and great photographer. Very imp guide is a good photographer for solo trips. I had Krishna and Sushma help me all along the way. They are guides who turned to be great friends. We had an amazing time all along. I am so happy and proud. Love nepal!
