This tour to Nicaragua takes you on an exciting journey through exploring the colonial city of Leon, the stunning Ometepe Island, and the charming town of Granada. It begins in Leon, one of the oldest cities in America, where you'll see the city's UNESCO-listed ruins and the Cathedral of Leon. From Leon, the journey continues to Ometepe Island, taking a ferry from San Jorge to Moyogalpa. Once you reach this island, composed of two volcanoes, you'll visit various attractions, including the El Ceibo Museum, Laguna Charco Verde, and the Ojo of Water. The tour then takes you to the colonial city of Granada. Explore the city on a guided walking tour to see historic churches and colonial homes from the 16th century. Later at night, ascend to Santiago crater to witness the red lava lake in the Masaya Volcano National Park. The next day, embark on a full-day adventure to the spectacular Mombacho Volcano. Overall, a very good tour, although a bit too fast-paced. Not enough time spent in several places including Antigua, Guatemala and the beach resort in El Salvador. Hostel accommodations should be upgraded to 2-3 star hotels. Excellent travel companions on this tour (only one traveler with significant psychological disturbance). G has a superior CEO in Jorge Montero, who was a delight throughout.
I have two more G tours scheduled later in 2025, so its apparent that I remain a fan and loyal customer of G.
