This trek is one of the most popular choices among trekkers. It covers not only Everest Base Camp but also Lukla, Namche Bazar, and Tengboche. The highlights of this expedition are Everest Base Camp (5364 m), Kala Patthar (5545 m), and Gokyo Lakes (4,700 m-5,000 m).
Our trek will begin from the mountain town of Lukla, a 30-minute flight from Kathmandu. Our goal is to trek for up to six hours a day. Since we will be trekking in the high altitude area, we have set aside one day in the itinerary for acclimatization.
We will be trekking on the trails near waterfalls, un-spoilt Buddhist monasteries, and through the enchanting Sherpa villages. Once we have reached the Everest Base Camp, we will also trek to Kala Patthar, which is a great vantage point for magnificent views of the southwest face of Mount Everest and other surrounding mountains such as Nuptse and Lhotse. We will visit Gokyo Lake during our return journey from the base camp.

We cannot recommend this trip highly enough. The variety of experiences was enormous -from the craziness of Kathmandu, to the laid-back nature of Pokhara, to the jaw-dropping majesty and vastness of the mountains-we loved it all. Our guide, Jangbu Sherpa, was brilliant throughout the whole holiday. His calm and knowledgeable presence was appreciated by the whole group. He looked after us, motivated us and inspired us when the going was tough.

Mera Peak (6,461 m), the highest trekking mountain in Nepal, is reached via Mera Peak Climbing. Anyone with a little bit of mountaineering experience should climb Mera Peak. Due to its elevation, it is a difficult trekking peak, although only very basic technical climbing skills are needed. Off-the-beaten-path in the rarely visited Hinku Valley is the climb to Mera Peak. The trail is isolated, the surroundings are untamed and clean, and there are not many populated areas. You'll spend the most of your nights in teahouses at yak herders' summer camps or remote kharkas.
Although Mera Peak is not particularly difficult technically, it is tall at 6476 m, has a long summit day, and is exposed to the elements. You need to drink plenty of water and keep your pace manageable and slow. Although the snow route itself is not particularly difficult, it is a long day out and will wear you out. You must feel at ease moving while cinched in and keeping a safe line while moving on a man rope. You also need to know how to walk in crampons and use your walking axe to self-arrest. We set up a high camp for this peak, so you should be comfortable camping on snow. It's also crucial to stay warm, dry, hydrated, and well-fed to be in the best condition on summit day.
