Sri Lanka was an amazing country to experience. The Explore itinerary is well thought out to cover a variety of places and experiences, as much as it can be done in a short two weeks time. I loved the Sigiriya climb and the Hortons plains walk the most. And the elephants and their babies, of course.
The accommodation was good. The food was plentiful, and usually not an issue to find something for everyone's taste. There were times when I felt we had been faced with one too many buffet options, when lighter choices would have been more desirable. But I understand that a buffet was usually the most expedient way to accommodate a group of our size.
With 12 people in the group, mostly solo travellers, we had a very good dynamic. People were always included if they so desired, and also had the option to step out of the group bubble and do their own thing.
Hector, our driver, was a joy to be around, always attentive, safe, and going out of his way to make sure we were all taken care of, always with a smile. Thank you Hector!
And not the least, Nala, our tour leader, was the secret ingredient that made it all even better. Always with a big smile and a big heart, assessing everyone's needs and desires and trying to accommodate everyone, Nala was a treasure trove of information about Sri Lanka. I booked this trip for my daughter and me. She wanted action and adventure, every day, and this trip delivered. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotels. Much nicer than I expected, given the low cost of this to her. Most of the transportation was fairly high-quality as well. The bus too, and from the rafting was nothing fancy, but certainly nothing to worry about.
Be prepared to spend a little more time than you might expect in transit. That's a function of Costa Rican infrastructure. Lots of one lane roads means travel between cities can be really slow. But the scenery is gorgeous. If you just consider it part of the adventure, and enjoy it, it's not a problem.
I highly recommend this trip. It had everything we wanted.
Great itinerary, the best sights of Alaska. The Alaska Wilderness Train, jet boat ride, Denali National Park tour and a glacier cruise…what is not to love!
A couple of the hotel (motel) selections were subpar and there could have been better choices made.
Otherwise, the trip overall was excellent and our bus driver and travel director were excellent!

The Southern Africa Safari trip was incredible! was an amazing tour guide with so much knowledge about South Africa and its surrounding countries. was also a great TM in Namibia. I had the time of my life on this trip and I wish I could do it all over again! It has got me so excited to go back to Africa and do more exploring of these beautiful countries.

You will see beautiful old buildings and many other things on this interesting trip but early May was the wrong time to go this year. We were quite cold most of the time. During our walking tour of Tartu, it even snowed a little. At least we didn't encounter much rain.
The hotels are very good, with excellent access to the Old Towns in the three capitals. Explore has changed the hotels that people complained about, I think.

I appreciated their flexibility too: a detour to a local market was welcomed, even though not in the original plan. Overall, the tour operator provided a trip that felt personal, insightful, and deeply moving. I returned home with richer understanding, many fond memories, and a desire to return someday.
