We will pick you up on the first day of the tour from your centrally located hotel in Nairobi and drive you to Maasai Mara. There is a stopover of around 30 minutes at a viewpoint in the Rift Valley. Learn more about the geology of this place from your tour guide before proceeding to Narok, a town famous for the Maasai people.
Your first game drive in the wildlife reserve is late in the afternoon, followed by a full-day exploration of the national park on the second day. The Aberdares National Park is in the forested slopes of the Aberdare Mountains and offers a surreal safari experience. Altitude exceeds 7,000 feet which means giant forest hogs waddle in small groups, eland skip away from the trees, while the strikingly red bongo emerges from the bamboo forest. In these dense trees, wildlife can't be spotted from a distance. Overlooking a waterhole and salt lick, the Ark Lodge provides a continual procession of Aberdare's residents.
